O Governo de Minas lançou, na segunda-feira (2), o Sistema de Identificação de Animais Domésticos, primeiro banco de dados público do Brasil desenvolvido por um governo estadual para controle e monitoramento de espécies da fauna doméstica. A iniciativa integra as ações do Programa Estadual de Microchipagem “Conheça seu Amigo”, promovido pela Secretaria de Estado de Meio Ambiente e Desenvolvimento Sustentável (Semad). O novo sistema permite que municípios, entidades protetoras, clínicas veterinárias e unidades móveis de esterilização registrem gratuitamente os dados de animais domésticos, bem como de seus cuidadores, sejam eles tutores (pessoa física) ou instituições de proteção animal. As informações estarão disponíveis a qualquer cidadão, por meio de consulta pública.
“Os dados registrados no Sistema de Identificação Animal irão auxiliar municípios, governo e entidades protetoras na tomada de decisões e elaboração de políticas públicas que visem melhorias na relação homem-animal-ambiente, constituindo uma importante ferramenta de gestão da fauna em Minas Gerais”, afirma a secretária de Estado de Meio Ambiente e Desenvolvimento Sustentável, Marília Melo.
Para acessar o sistema, cada município deverá solicitar a criação de usuário junto à Semad a partir do e-mail faunadomestica@meioambiente.mg.gov.br, informando nome completo, CPF, e-mail, data de nascimento e cargo público do usuário cadastrado. Os municípios serão responsáveis também pela inclusão de parceiros, como clínicas veterinárias, organizações da sociedade civil e unidades móveis de castração, que atuem em seu território.
De acordo com a Organização Mundial para Saúde Animal (OIE, na sigla em inglês), a identificação e microchipagem de animais permite, entre outros benefícios, o monitoramento do tamanho da população regional e localmente, o dimensionamento de animais nas vias públicas e o manejo ambiental e identificação dos guardiões de cada animal. Além de ser uma importante ferramenta para o planejamento urbano, o bem-estar animal e o combate ao abandono.
