Minas Gerais elegeu Cleitinho (PSC) como senador. Com 93,35% dos votos apurados, ele tem 41,98% dos votos válidos, o que equivale a 4.026.409 votos. Apoiador de Jair Bolsonaro, Cleitinho venceu outros oito candidatos ao Senado no estado de Minas.
Cleiton Gontijo de Azevedo tem 40 anos e é natural de Divinópolis. Empresário e músico, tem o ensino médio completo. Ele foi eleito em 2016 para seu primeiro mandato como vereador em sua cidade natal. Em 2018, elegeu-se deputado estadual pelo PPS. Passou pelo Cidadania e agora conquista uma vaga no Senado pelo Partido Social Cristão.
O primeiro suplente de Cleitinho é Alex Diniz (PSC). O segundo é Wander de Sousa (PSC).
