A Câmara Municipal de Nova Serrana inaugurou nesta quinta-feira (10), o Centro de Memória do Legislativo Municipal. O espaço é dedicado ao resgate e preservação da história do Poder Legislativo e do município.
O local também será um espaço de exposições culturais para resgate e preservação da nossa história, sempre pelo fio condutor que é o Poder Legislativo do município. Com isso, será possível receber grupos de estudantes e visitantes para terem uma experiência cultural, enriquecedora sobre o passado e o presente da Câmara Municipal, sobre as tradições, a indústria, e também sobre as pessoas que fizeram parte da história de toda Nova Serrana.
O projeto arquitetônico levou em consideração as cores do brasão do município e agrega aspectos industriais e aspectos tecnológicos que permitirão aos visitantes seguirem uma linha cronológica de nossa história em aparelhos e equipamentos modernos, em um ambiente cuidadosamente preparado com acessibilidade e iluminação que valorizam os objetos expostos, além de preservar todo o acervo para as futuras gerações.
A inauguração foi prestigiada por diversas autoridades além dos vereadores, como o Prefeito Euzébio Lago, o deputado estadual Fábio Avelar e representantes de diversas instituições dentre elas a APHINS – Associação de Preservação Histórica de Nova Serrana que realizou todo o trabalho técnico de catalogação e preservação do acervo da Câmara para promover a exposição atual do Centro.
A solenidade contou com uma benção do Padre Amarildo de Melo, além do brilhante talento do maestro João Evaristo Silveira na execução do Hino Nacional e também da cantora Eliane Ramos que cantou o Hino de Nova Serrana acompanhada pelo músico Bernardo Gabriel.

Os vereadores aprovaram por unanimidade o nome do ex-vereador Sebastião Roosevelt Reis para a denominação do Centro de Memória. Na solenidade inaugural os familiares, representados por seu filho Dimas José dos Reis, receberam uma homenagem e também participaram do descerramento da placa de inauguração exposta na recepção do Centro.
