O presidente do Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE), ministro Alexandre de Moraes, entregou nesta segunda-feira (12) os diplomas de presidente e vice-presidente da República a Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva e Geraldo Alckmin, respectivamente, eleitos no dia 30 de outubro, em segundo turno, para o mandato 2023-2026. Os documentos os habilitam a tomar posse nos cargos no dia 1º de janeiro.
A sessão solene destinada à diplomação dos eleitos foi aberta por Moraes no início da tarde. Em seguida, os ministros da Casa Ricardo Lewandowski e Benedito Gonçalves conduziram Lula ao Plenário, e, logo após, Alckmin foi conduzido pelos ministros Cármen Lúcia e Raul Araújo. Depois, houve a execução do Hino Nacional pela Fanfarra do 1º Regimento da Cavalaria de Guardas regida pelo Tenente Cláudio Marcio Araújo da Luz.
Após a execução do Hino, Moraes entregou o diploma a Lula, com os seguintes dizeres: “Pela vontade do povo brasileiro expressa nas urnas em 30 de outubro de 2022, o candidato pela coligação Brasil da Esperança, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, foi eleito presidente da República Federativa do Brasil. Em testemunho desse fato, a Justiça Eleitoral expediu-lhe este diploma, que o habilita à investidura no cargo perante o Congresso Nacional em 1º de janeiro de 2023, nos termos da Constituição Federal. Brasília, 12 de dezembro de 2022, no 201º ano da Independência e 134º ano da República”. O presidente do TSE também entregou o respectivo diploma a Alckmin.
Além de Moraes, participaram da mesa de honra da cerimônia de diplomação a presidente do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), ministra Rosa Weber; os presidentes do Senado Federal, Rodrigo Pacheco, e da Câmara dos Deputados, Arthur Lira; o vice-presidente do TSE, ministro Ricardo Lewandowski; os ministros da Corte Cármen Lúcia, Benedito Gonçalves, Raul Araújo, Sérgio Banhos e Carlos Horbach; o procurador-geral eleitoral, Augusto Aras; e o presidente do Conselho Federal da OAB, Beto Simonetti.
