A Defesa Civil do Estado de São Paulo confirmou que um abalo sísmico foi sentido nesta sexta (16), na região do Vale do Ribeira, no sul do estado. O tremor ocorreu por volta das 8h20. Segundo o Centro de Sismologia da Universidade de São Paulo (USP), o abalo foi de 4.0° na escala Richter e seu epicentro foi no município de Iguape.
“Este abalo pode ter sido sentido em um raio de até 100km do seu epicentro. Abalos entre 3,5° a 5,4° são sentidos, no entanto, não costumam gerar danos estruturais”, diz o Centro de Sismologia da USP. A Defesa Civil informou que até o momento, o Corpo de Bombeiros e a Defesa Civil não receberam nenhum chamado para ocorrência com vítimas ou danos estruturais.
A Rede Sismográfica Brasileira também registrou o tremor e afirmou que tremores de baixa magnitude são relativamente comuns no Brasil. “Em geral, esses pequenos sismos são causados por pressões geológicas movimentando pequenas fraturas na crosta terrestre”, informa.
A Defesa Civil enviou alertas para os celulares cadastrados recomendando que as pessoas protejam-se, apesar de não haver riscos para danos potenciais. (COM AGÊNCIA BRASIL)
