    SECRETARIA DE ESTADO DE SAÚDE ALERTA A POPULAÇÃO SOBRE FEBRE MACULOSA

    A febre maculosa é uma doença endêmica em Minas Gerais, causada por bactérias do gênero Rickettsia e transmitida ao homem pela picada do carrapato-estrela. Embora ocorra com mais frequência nos períodos de seca, especialmente entre os meses de abril e outubro, pode ser notificada durante todo o ano. Como não existe vacina, a Secretaria de Estado de Saúde de Minas Gerais (SES-MG) informa à população que adotar medidas de prevenção e controle do parasita transmissor é fundamental para se evitar a doença.

     

    Apesar de o número de ocorrências deste ano em Minas Gerais estar dentro do esperado – foram confirmados 11 casos e quatro óbitos no estado em 2023 –, a doença apresenta alto índice de letalidade, reforçando o alerta da SES-MG. “Em caso de surgimento de sintomas com histórico de picada por carrapato, a pessoa deve procurar o serviço de saúde imediatamente para diagnóstico e início precoce do tratamento”, explica Mariana Gontijo, coordenadora de Zoonoses e Vigilância de Fatores de Risco Biológicos da SES-MG.

     

    A coordenadora explica que os principais sintomas são febre, dor de cabeça intensa, náuseas e vômitos, diarreia e dor abdominal, dor muscular constante, inchaço e vermelhidão nas palmas das mãos e sola dos pés, gangrena nos dedos e orelhas, além de paralisia dos membros que se inicia nas pernas podendo chegar até os pulmões, causando parada respiratória. Com a evolução da doença é comum também o aparecimento de manchas vermelhas nos pulsos e tornozelos, que não coçam, mas que podem aumentar em direção às palmas das mãos, braços ou solas dos pés.
