O Plenário da Assembleia Legislativa de Minas Gerais (ALMG) aprovou, em 2º turno, na quarta-feira (27/9), em Reunião Extraordinária, o Projeto de Lei (PL) 78/23, que autoriza o Estado a firmar convênio com municípios para contratação de sentenciados para execução de obras e prestação de serviços.
A matéria, de autoria da deputada Marli Ribeiro (PSC), foi aprovada na forma do vencido, ou seja, do texto que teve aval do Plenário em 1º turno após modificações.
Da forma como foi aprovado em 1º turno, o projeto acrescenta o parágrafo 5º ao artigo 39 da Lei 11.404, de 1994, que traz normas de execução penal. O artigo 39 estabelece que o trabalho é obrigatório para o preso, exceto aos domingos, quando faz o repouso semanal.
O parágrafo 5º permite a contratação dessas pessoas pela administração direta ou indireta de municípios nos quais existam estabelecimentos prisionais para a execução de obras e prestação de serviços, observados os requisitos previstos na Lei 11.404. (COMUNICAÇÃO ALMG)
