A 39° Festa de Reinado 2023 em Nova Serrana começa nesta quinta (12) de outubro e vai até domingo (15). O evento cultural e religioso é marcado pela devoção a Nossa Senhora do Rosário, Santa Efigênia, São Benedito e Nossa Senhora das Mercês, nas tradições do congado do estado de Minas Gerais.
No dia 15 de outubro a programação terá início às 6h com Alvorada Festiva que contará com a queima de fogos. A partir das 7h começa a chegada das congadas na praça do Rosário para a celebração da solenidade dos Reis Congos. Em seguida, às 8h, os cortes vão se dirigir para os cafés dos festeiros e o café comunitário.
De 11h às 13h acontece o almoço na casa dos festeiros de Nossa Senhora do Rosário. Logo após, eles se direcionam para matriz de São Sebastião, onde acontecerá a missa conga, marcada para às 15h. Depois da celebração, as congadas descerão em procissão para a praça do Rosário, onde será feito o descerramento dos mastros e a passagem das coroas para o próximo ano.
A programação especial da Festa de Reinado 2023 com as congadas será realizada somente no domingo. Nos outros dias haverá barraquinhas. O evento é uma realização da Irmandade Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Nova Serrana e conta com apoio da Prefeitura de Nova Serrana, por meio da Secretaria Municipal de Educação e Cultura, Secretaria Municipal de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Conselho Municipal de Turismo de Nova Serrana.
