Na última sexta-feira (20), a Escola do Suas, vinculada à Secretaria Municipal de Desenvolvimento Social de Nova Serrana, promoveu uma palestra voltada para a temática “Outubro Rosa”. A convidada para ministrar o evento foi a Dr.ª Maria Aparecida Silva e Souza, ginecologista e obstetra com mais de 30 anos de atuação na cidade de Nova Serrana.
O objetivo principal da atividade foi alertar as servidoras da secretaria sobre a importância da prevenção e do diagnóstico precoce do câncer de mama. Durante o momento, a médica enfatizou sobre a necessidade de se obter um diagnóstico precoce (ainda em seu estágio inicial), destacando que as chances de tratamento bem-sucedido e cura são significativamente maiores.
Além disso, focou em tratar sobre o autoexame das mamas e da necessidade de realizar exames de rotina, como a mamografia, que deve ser realizada a partir de uma certa idade ou conforme as orientações médicas. Por fim, ressaltou também a importância do autoconhecimento do próprio corpo, uma vez que isso permite que as mulheres reconheçam quaisquer alterações suspeitas em suas mamas.
A palestra fez parte das atividades promovidas pela Escola do Suas, que visa proporcionar momentos de aprendizado aos servidores, promovendo a educação continuada e criando oportunidades para a interação e a troca de experiências.
