Nesta quarta-feira (24/1) a Vigilância Epidemiológica divulgou os dados atualizados de casos de arboviroses em Nova Serrana deste ano de 2024. No momento, foram registrados 191 casos prováveis de dengue e um foi confirmado. Não há internados e nem óbitos confirmados.
Os bairros com maior incidência de casos notificados são: Concesso Elias, Centro, São Geraldo, Veredas e Boa Vista, respectivamente. Também houve registros no Santa Sara, Planalto, Maria José do Amaral, Bela Vista, Cidade Nova, Frei Ambrósio, São Marcos, Esplanada, André de Freitas, Jeferson Batista, Frei Paulo e Capão.
Já de chikungunya, considerando este início de 2024, há um caso confirmado na cidade (do bairro Frei Ambrósio). De zika vírus não há, até o momento no município, nenhum registro (nem mesmo de casos prováveis).

Conforme divulgado pelo governo do estado nesta terça-feira (23/1), em Minas Gerais, até segunda (22/1), tinham sido registrados neste ano 32.316 casos prováveis de dengue, 11.490 haviam sido confirmados, 14 óbitos estavam em investigação e uma morte tinha sido confirmada da doença.
Com o aumento dos casos, o governo de Minas afirmou que pode decretar em breve estado de emergência por causa da dengue. Em Nova Serrana, o Levantamento do Índice de Infestação do Aedes Aegypti (LIRAa) está sendo realizado nesta semana, como parte da programação do Programa Nacional de Combate à Dengue (PNCD).
Os agentes de endemias do município têm realizado visitas aos imóveis para pesquisa larvária. O objetivo central do levantamento é reforçar as ações de combate à dengue no município. O prefeito Euzebio Lago destacou: “a equipe da Saúde tem trabalhado, mas além disso, é muito importante que cada um faça sua parte e ajude nesta batalha contra a proliferação do Aedes Aegypti. O estado atual é de alerta! É necessário a cooperação de todos, é hora de unir forças neste combate.”
