MINEIRA DE SÃO GONÇALO DO PARÁ, MACAÉ EVARISTO ASSUMIRÁ MINISTÉRIO DOS DIREITOS HUMANO
Após ser anunciada como a nova ministra dos Direitos Humanos e da Cidadania, a deputada estadual mineira Macaé Evaristo (PT) disse nesta segunda-feira (9) que tem como prioridades de sua gestão enfrentar a violência sexual contra crianças, garantir direitos das pessoas idosas e da população em situação de rua.
A nomeação oficial no cargo deve ocorrer na próxima semana, mas os trabalhos já começaram hoje com uma primeira visita ao ministério. Macaé Evaristo fez uma breve reunião para conhecer os secretários, preparar um primeiro diagnóstico da pasta e estabelecer as urgências.
“Enfrentamento da violência sexual contra crianças, a pauta da população de rua, das pessoas idosas: esse ministério tem políticas que são muito importantes. A gente precisa sair desse luto e ir para a luta. Tem muito trabalho a fazer”, disse Evaristo, na primeira fala à imprensa após o anúncio.
Enquanto não assume a pasta oficialmente, Macaé Evaristo alternará entre Brasília e Minas Gerais. Ela está se licenciando do cargo de deputada estadual, mas ainda precisa cumprir alguns compromissos do mandato. Ela assumirá o ministério depois da saída de Silvio Almeida, demitido na última sexta-feira (6) em meio a denúncias de assédio sexual.

Macaé Maria Evaristo dos Santos nasce em São Gonçalo do Pará/MG, (3 de abril de 1965) é professora, assistente social e política brasileira, filiada ao Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT). É deputada estadual de Minas Gerais.
Graduada em Serviço Social pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (PUC Minas), é mestre em Educação pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). É professora da rede municipal de Belo Horizonte desde os 19 anos e foi a primeira mulher negra a ocupar os cargos de secretária municipal de Educação de Belo Horizonte, de 2005 a 2012, e secretária estadual de Educação de Minas Gerais, de 2015 a 2018.
