O presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva prometeu no sábado (16) que, até o fim do mandato, nenhum brasileiro vai passar fome no país. A declaração foi feita no último dia do Festival Aliança Global contra a Fome e a Pobreza, na região central do Rio de Janeiro.
“Quero dizer para os milhões de habitantes que passam fome no mundo, para as crianças que não sabem se vai ter alimento. Quero dizer que hoje não tem, mas amanhã vai ter. É preciso coragem para mudar essa história perversa”, disse o presidente. “O que falta não é produção de alimentos. O mundo tem tecnologia e genética para produzir alimentos suficientes. Falta responsabilidade para colocar o pobre no orçamento público e garantir comida. Tiramos 24 milhões de pessoas da fome até agora. E em 2026, não teremos nenhum brasileiro passando fome”.
O evento encerrou a programação do G20 Social, que reuniu durante três dias representantes do governo federal, movimentos sociais e instituições não governamentais. Na segunda (18) e terça-feira (19), acontece a Cúpula do G20, com os líderes dos principais países do mundo. A discussão de iniciativas contra a fome e a pobreza são bandeiras da presidência brasileira do G20.
“Quando colocamos fome para discutir no G20, era para transformar em questão politica. Ela é tratada como uma questão social, apenas um número estatístico para período de eleição e depois é esquecida. Quem tem fome é tratado como invisível no país”, disse o presidente. “Fome não é questão da natureza. Não é questão alheia ao ser humano. Ela é tratada como se não existisse. Mas é responsabilidade de todos nós governantes do planeta”.
O encerramento do festival teve a participação dos artistas Ney Matogrosso, Maria Gadú, Alceu Valença, Fafá de Belém, Jaloo Kleber Lucas, Jovem Dionísio, Tássia Reis, Jota.Pê e Lukinhas. (COM AGÊNCIA BRASIL)
