A Prefeitura de Nova Serrana anunciou nesta segunda-feira (10), que o Centro Municipal de Educação Infantil – “CMEI Firmino Fernandes de Azevedo” que atende o bairro Santo Antônio, Industrial e imediações passará a funcionar temporariamente no prédio que abrigou a Faculdade UNA, às margens da BR 262, no bairro São José.
A mudança se faz necessária devido à interdição do atual prédio. O novo espaço é amplo e adequado para receber as crianças e os profissionais da educação com segurança. Trata-se de uma cessão não onerosa, ou seja, sem custos para o município e por tempo determinado. Considerando haver necessidade de algumas pequenas adequações e limpeza, ainda não há previsão para o início do ano letivo. Porém, este acontecerá o mais breve possível, para melhor atender as famílias e crianças matriculadas.
Segundo nota, “a Secretaria de Educação já está adotando as medidas necessárias para viabilizar uma solução definitiva para as instalações do CMEI Firmino Fernandes”. Concluindo, ainda afirma “A Prefeitura reforça seu compromisso com a qualidade da educação e a segurança dos estudantes e profissionais da rede municipal”.
Problemas estruturais, insatisfação e vagas em espera
O CMEI Firmino Fernandes de Azevedo funcionava na rua São Paulo, no bairro Santo Antônio, até o ano passado. O prédio é alugado pelo município e abrigava 184 crianças. Em janeiro deste ano, o secretário municipal de Educação, Thomás Resende, anunciou a interdição do prédio alegando questões de segurança, ao sere constatadas rachaduras por todo o imóvel, oferecendo risco aos profissionais de educação e alunos. Não foram passadas mais informações aos pais e responsáveis, o que criou um grande desgaste e insatisfação.
O município de Nova Serrana possui uma lista de espera de, aproximadamente, 600 vagas em CMEI/creche/berçário, em 2025.
