A Polícia Militar de Minas Gerais (PMMG) lançou nesta quinta-feira (20/2), em todas as regiões do estado, a 12ª edição da Operação Força Total – Polícias Militares a serviço do Brasil.
A solenidade ocorreu na Esplanada Sul do estádio do Mineirão, na região da Pampulha, e contou com as presenças do comandante-geral da Polícia Militar de Minas Gerais, coronel Carlos Frederico Otoni Garcia, e do comandante-geral da Polícia Militar de São Paulo (PMSP) e presidente do Conselho Nacional de Comandantes-Gerais (CNCG-PM), coronel Cássio Araújo de Freitas.
A operação, executada articuladamente em todo o território nacional, sob a coordenação do Conselho Nacional de Comandantes-Gerais das Polícias Militares, pretende ampliar a atuação das Polícias Militares e intensificar a prestação de serviços de segurança pública no país.
Esta edição da operação ocorre em um momento significativo, ao celebrar os 30 anos de criação do CNCG-PM, reafirmando o compromisso das Polícias Militares com a preservação da ordem pública e a defesa do estado democrático de direito.
Em Minas Gerais, com o foco no fortalecimento da ordem pública e na proteção da população, no período que antecede o Carnaval 2025, a PMMG realizará diversas ações preventivas e repressivas voltadas ao enfrentamento à criminalidade, principalmente ao tráfico de drogas, nas rodovias estaduais e federais delegadas, nos centros urbanos e nas áreas comerciais.
“A operação Força Total é uma operação bem-sucedida por conseguir reunir e unificar todas as Polícias Militares do Brasil com o desafio de proteger a sociedade brasileira”, ressaltou o comandante-geral da PMMG, coronel Frederico.
Segundo o comandante-geral da PMSP, coronel Cássio Araújo de Freitas, a operação mobiliza 140 mil profissionais de segurança em um único dia, mais de 2 mil pessoas já foram abordadas e já prendeu mais de 15 mil criminosos. “A Polícia Militar de Minas Gerais é uma das mais antigas do Brasil e um exemplo de eficiência, eficácia e, na qual, muito de nós nos espelhamos”, destacou.
