Minas Gerais celebra um marco histórico: a taxa de desemprego chegou ao patamar de 4,3% no quarto trimestre de 2024, o menor índice desde o início da Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios Contínua (Pnad Contínua), iniciada em 2012. A taxa ficou abaixo da média nacional, que registrou 6,2% no mesmo período.
Essa foi a quarta redução seguida registrada pelo estado, puxada, sobretudo, pela atração de investimentos e mão de obra qualificada. Com isso, Minas alcança o chamado pleno emprego, cenário em que praticamente toda a população economicamente ativa está empregada.
O governador Romeu Zema destacou a importância desse avanço. “Minas Gerais está mostrando ao país que é possível crescer com responsabilidade e gerar oportunidades para todos. Esse resultado é a prova de que estamos no caminho certo, atraindo investimentos e qualificando nossa mão de obra”, ressaltou Romeu Zema.
A secretária de Estado de Desenvolvimento Social de Minas Gerais (Sedese-MG), Alê Portela, também comemorou o feito histórico. “Celebramos a menor taxa de desemprego da história, destacando importantes avanços promovidos pela Sedese-MG. O incentivo à capacitação profissional está abrindo portas e criando oportunidades reais de emprego para nossa população. Estamos investindo em pessoas, o que tem transformado vidas e fortalecido a economia de Minas Gerais”, enfatizou Alê Portela.
Um milhão de oportunidades
Com uma taxa de desocupação inferior à média nacional, Minas Gerais se consolida como um dos estados mais dinâmicos do país. Desde 2019, o estado já criou mais de 875 mil vagas formais, se aproximando de outra marca histórica: a de 1 milhão de empregos gerados até 2026.
O motor de oportunidades no estado é o micro e pequeno negócio. O setor fechou o ano de 2024 mantendo alta no saldo de geração de novos postos de trabalho ao redor do estado. Do saldo de mais de 139 mil vagas formais geradas, as micro e pequenas empresas (MPEs) foram responsáveis por 79,4% (110.783 empregos).
Minas é o segundo principal gerador de empregos por MPEs no Brasil, ficando atrás apenas de São Paulo (306.523).
