A prefeitura de Betim vai vacinar estudantes de 12 a 14 anos de idade a partir desta quarta-feira (16). O governo local pretende imunizar aproximadamente 19 mil estudantes. Os alunos da rede municipal de ensino dos 7º, 8º e 9º ano do ensino fundamental serão os primeiros a receberem a vacina. Ao longo da semana, será aberto o cadastro para que as instituições de ensino públicas e privadas façam adesão dos respectivos alunos.
A prefeitura anunciou a vacinação dos estudantes após receber 6.047 doses da vacina da Pfizer, imunizante que tem a autorização da Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa) para ser aplicado em pessoas a partir de 12 anos de idade.
Segundo o prefeito de Betim, Vittorio Medioli, a ideia é evitar que as crianças percam o ano letivo por causa da covid-19. A vacinação dos professores já foi iniciada no município. “Já perdemos o ano letivo de 2020, e temos que fazer um esforço para recuperar e não perdemos ainda este ano. Por isso, a vacina da Pfizer que chegar no município será destinada aos estudantes”, disse Medioli.
Segundo o prefeito, após a vacinação de professores e estudants com a primeira dose, a prefeitura avaliará a possibilidade de retornar às aulas semipresenciais em agosto.
A vacinação acontecerá nas escolas municipais nas regionais Icaivera, Citrolândia, Vianópolis e Petrovale. Na quinta-feira (17), serão vacinados os estudantes da rede pública nas escolas localizadas nas regionais PTB e Teresópolis. Na sexta-feira (18), será a vez dos estudantes da rede municipal na região norte de Betim.
