Um avião da companhia Emirates, com remessa de 2 milhões de doses da vacina Oxford/AstraZeneca contra covid-19 decolou na madrugada de hoje (22) de Mumbai, na Índia, e deve chegar a São Paulo às 6h55 desta terça-feira.
A aeronave deixou a cidade indiana por volta das 10h30 da manhã (horário local), o que equivale a 2h da madrugada de hoje no horário de Brasília. A carga fará escala em Dubai, nos Emirados Árabes, de onde decolará para São Paulo às 22h40 (horário local) – 15h40 de hoje (horário de Brasília).
O voo chegará a São Paulo amanhã de manhã e as vacinas seguirão para o Rio de Janeiro, onde serão levadas para o Instituto de Tecnologia em Imunobiológicos (Bio-Manguinhos/Fiocruz).
As doses foram produzidas pelo Instituto Serum, parceiro da AstraZeneca na Índia e maior produtor mundial de vacinas. Mesmo prontas, as vacinas precisarão passar primeiro por Bio-Manguinhos para que possam ser rotuladas antes de serem distribuídas ao Programa Nacional de Imunizações.
A importação de doses prontas é uma estratégia paralela à produção de vacinas acertada entre a AstraZeneca e a Fiocruz. Para acelerar a disponibilidade de vacinas à população, 2 milhões de doses já foram trazidas da Índia em janeiro e está previsto um total de 10 milhões de doses prontas a serem importadas. Além dos 2 milhões que chegam amanhã ao país, mais 8 milhões estão previstas para os próximos dois meses.
Enquanto negocia a chegada das doses prontas, a Fiocruz trabalha na produção local das vacinas Oxford/AstraZeneca. Segundo o acordo com a farmacêutica anglo-sueca, a Fiocruz vai produzir 100,4 milhões de doses de vacinas até julho, a partir de um ingrediente farmacêutico ativo (IFA) importado. A primeira remessa desse insumo já chegou ao Bio-Manguinhos e o primeiro milhão de doses produzido na Fiocruz tem entrega prevista para o período de 15 a 19 de março.
De acordo com a fundação, os dois primeiros lotes estarão liberados internamente nos próximos dias. Esses lotes são destinados a testes para o estabelecimento dos parâmetros de produção.
“Com esses resultados, a instituição produzirá os três lotes de validação, cuja documentação será submetida à Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa). Esses lotes somarão cerca de 1 milhão de doses e seus resultados serão enviados à Anvisa até meados de março”.
Também está em andamento na Fiocruz o processo de transferência de tecnologia para a produção do IFA no Brasil, o que tornará a fundação autossuficiente na produção das vacinas. A previsão é que as primeiras doses com IFA nacional sejam entregues ao Ministério da Saúde em agosto, e, até o fim de 2021, seja possível entregar 110 milhões de doses, elevando o total produzido no ano pela Fiocruz para 210,4 milhões.
