A Prefeitura de Nova Serrana | Secretaria Municipal de Saúde, participa ao longo do mês de dezembro da Campanha Dezembro Vermelho, dedicada à conscientização, prevenção e combate ao HIV/AIDS e às Infecções Sexualmente Transmissíveis (ISTs). A campanha tem como objetivo informar e sensibilizar a população sobre a importância da prevenção, do diagnóstico precoce e do tratamento adequado.
Em Nova Serrana, as ações de prevenção, diagnóstico e tratamento das ISTs são ofertadas gratuitamente durante todo o ano por meio do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). O tratamento adequado melhora a qualidade de vida das pessoas e contribui para a interrupção da cadeia de transmissão das infecções.
Entre os serviços disponibilizados estão os testes rápidos para HIV, sífilis e hepatites virais, orientações preventivas e a distribuição de preservativos nas Unidades Básicas de Saúde (UBSs). O SUS também oferece a PrEP (Profilaxia Pré-Exposição), indicada para pessoas com maior risco de exposição ao HIV, e a PEP (Profilaxia Pós-Exposição), utilizada em situações de emergência após uma possível exposição ao vírus. O uso de camisinha masculina ou feminina em todas as relações sexuais continua sendo o método mais eficaz para a prevenção das ISTs, do HIV/aids e das hepatites virais B e C.
A Secretaria Municipal de Saúde orienta que, caso o paciente procure a unidade e não seja possível a realização do teste no mesmo momento, o profissional de enfermagem prestará as orientações necessárias e agendará o atendimento para outra data, garantindo a continuidade do cuidado e evitando a desassistência.
É importante destacar que todas as equipes de Saúde da Família do município estão preparadas para receber a população, oferecendo orientações, encaminhamentos e atendimento de forma sigilosa, ética e profissional.
O Dezembro Vermelho é um convite à informação, ao cuidado e à responsabilidade com a própria saúde e com a saúde do outro. Prevenir é a melhor forma de proteção.
