    APÓS IMUNIZAÇÃO, ÓBITOS E INTERNAÇÕES ENTRE IDOSOS COM MAIS DE 70 ANOS CAEM EM MINAS

    Após três meses do início da Campanha de Vacinação Contra a Covid-19 em Minas Gerais, é possível observar queda na proporção de óbitos e internações pelo coronavírus entre a população com mais de 70 anos. Dados da equipe técnica da Sala de Situação da Secretaria de Estado de Saúde (SES-MG) apontam que, na segunda quinzena de janeiro deste ano, 25,1% dos óbitos registrados no estado pela doença ocorreram entre pessoas de 80 a 89 anos. Já na segunda quinzena de abril, este número caiu para 9,9% do total de mortes registradas.

    Entre as pessoas acima de 90 anos, a queda foi de quase sete pontos percentuais, passando de 8,6%, do total de óbitos registrados por covid-19, para 2%. Na faixa etária entre 70 a 79 anos também é possível verificar uma redução: em janeiro, 29,5% do total de óbitos eram de pessoas nesta faixa etária. Em abril, este número reduziu para 27,4%.

    “Durante 2020, as mortes de idosos se mantiveram no patamar de 25% a 30% de todos os óbitos por covid-19. Com o início da vacinação, esse número vem caindo”, avalia a coordenadora da Sala de Situação e do Centro de Informações Estratégicas em Vigilância em Saúde (Cievs-MG) da SES-MG, Eva Lídia Medeiros.

    – Internações

    Os dados relacionados às internações também apontam queda no índice de idosos com mais de 70 anos que precisaram de UTI no estado. Segundo Eva Lídia é possível verificar que, na segunda quinzena de janeiro, 14,8% do total de internações em UTI por covid-19 eram de pessoas na faixa etária de 80 a 89 anos. Já em abril, este número foi para 6,9%.

    Entre os idosos de 70 a 79 anos, o percentual de internados caiu de 20,6%, em janeiro, para 15,9%, em abril. Entre as pessoas acima de 90 anos, 5,1% estavam na UTI por covid-19 em janeiro; na última semana de abril este índice passou para 1,7% do total. “A vacina garante a segurança sanitária de toda a população. Os estudos científicos publicados até o momento comprovam que, após a segunda dose, a imunidade é alcançada, individual e coletivamente”, afirma Eva.

    – Avanço entre jovens

    Se entre os idosos é possível observar a redução de casos e óbitos, na faixa etária de 20 a 69 anos houve aumento na proporção dos óbitos e das internações em UTI por covid-19, em relação ao total de notificações no estado.

    Eva avalia que esse aumento se deve tanto à diminuição da porcentagem de casos e óbitos entre pessoas de outras faixas etárias, quanto ao agravamento da doença em todo o país, causado pela introdução de novas variantes e pelo aumento expressivo da circulação de pessoas nos últimos meses.

    “Os índices são justificados pelo impacto da cobertura vacinal nos grupos acima de 80 anos, bem como pelo aumento da incidência geral do número de casos, o que também influencia no aumento de internações causado por agravamento da covid-19”, explica. Por isso, a coordenadora da Sala de Situação alerta sobre a necessidade de se manter as medidas de proteção sanitárias, como o uso de máscaras e o distanciamento social.
