Atletas do projeto Nova Serrana Olímpica participaram do Campeonato Brasileiro Juvenil de Handebol Feminino, que aconteceu do dia 2 ao dia 7 de outubro em Pará de Minas.
Quatro atletas de Nova Serrana foram convocadas pela Federação Mineira de Handebol para representar o município de Pará de Minas na competição, equipe que alcançou a quinta colocação ao final do campeonato.
Já nesta quarta-feira (11/10), na cidade de Martinho Campos, o Campeonato Brasileiro de Handebol iniciará a disputa da taça sudeste, que terá participação da equipe mirim feminino do projeto Nova Serrana Olímpica.
A competição contará com duas equipes de São Paulo e quatro de Minas Gerais. As duas melhores se classificarão para a fase final do brasileiro de clubes. Além disso, três atletas do masculino de Nova Serrana estarão em quadra jogando pela cidade de Martinho Campos no campeonato brasileiro mirim.
O Projeto Nova Serrana Olímpica promove aulas gratuitas para crianças entre 7 e 17 anos em diversas modalidades esportivas. Mais de 2.000 alunos são atendidos anualmente em diversas categorias. (COM SEC. COMUN. SOCIAL/PREF. N.S.)
