Um operário de aproximadamente 40 anos foi resgatado depois de ser soterrado em um silo de minério, dentro de uma siderúrgica em Bom Despacho. A vítima se desequilibrou e ficou soterrada por cerca de 3 horas até a altura do abdômen.
De acordo com o Corpo de Bombeiros, a equipe foi acionada por volta de 03h30 da madrugada. Durante toda a ocorrência, o metalúrgico esteve consciente e orientado, apenas sentido fortes dores nas pernas que depois se converteram em dormência.
Após a retirada, ele foi levado à Unidade de Pronto Atendimento (UPA) com todos sinais vitais preservados.

    each major candidate has leaned heavily on a favorite theme — abortion rights for Democrat Kamala Harris and border security for Republican Donald Trump.

    didn’t refuse. Providing, of course, that the bill was on someone else.
    Because caviar, smeared on blinis or piled high on baked potatoes, sure didn’t come cheap.
    There may have been other things on the menu, but no one paid them much heed.
    This was all about lashings of the black stuff.

    Caviar Kaspia’s signature baked potato and caviar: ‘there are few better dishes on earth…only the price, at just under £150,
    is ridiculous’

    Caviar Kaspia popped her final tin about two decades back.
    And that site, hidden down a smart Mayfair mews, was taken over by Gavin Rankin (who used
    to be the boss), and transformed into the brilliant
    Bellamy’s. It prospers to this day. Kaspia, on the
    other hand, went quiet. Until last year, when she reopened as a members’ club in another Mayfair backstreet.
    But a £2,000 a year membership fee proved hard to swallow, meaning
    the doors were opened to the great unwashed.

    Which is how we find ourselves sitting in a rather handsome – albeit near empty – dining room, lusciously lavish, under the stern gaze of a stern painting of a very stern man. The soft, crepuscular gloom is broken up by the glare of table lamps, indecorously bright, while a loud soundtrack of indolent, indeterminate beats throbs in the background.
    The whole place is scented with gilded ennui.

    Our fellow diners are two young South Korean women of pale, luminescent beauty, clad in diaphanous couture.
    They don’t speak, rather communicate entirely via camera phone.
    Pose, click, check, filter, post. Immaculate waiters
    hover in the shadows.

    We sip ice-cold vodka, and eat a £77 caviar and smoked-salmon Kaspia croque monsieur that tastes far better
    than it ought to. Next door, a large table fills
    with a glut of the noisily, glossily confident.

    We’re looked after by a wonderful French lady of such effervescent charm and charisma that had she burst into an impromptu performance of ‘Willkommen’, we would
    have barely blinked. Baked potatoes, skin as crisp as parchment, insides
    whipped savagely hard with butter and sour cream, are a study in tuber art.

    A cool jet-black splodge of oscietra caviar, gently saline, raises them to the sublime.
    Only the price, at just under £150 each, is ridiculous.
    But there are few better dishes on earth.

    I’d eat this every day if I could. But I can’t. Obviously.
    That’s the problem with caviar. One taste is never enough.

    office hit, which was simply titled Joker. 

    The first film grossed over $1 billion and at the time was
    the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. It received 11 Oscar nominations –
    two of which it won. 

    The sequel, however, has already been much less successful.

    It had a lackluster $40 million debut at the box office in its first weekend,
    and has a low rating of 33 percent and 31 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

    ‘Undoing much of the goodwill from its predecessor,
    the sequel convolutes what could have been a unique character study into a bloated encore that goes out with a whimper,’ reads one review.

    now made by her son Graham, is one of the world’s great cheeses, and this is a soufflé of quiet majesty.
    A mushroom soup is equally splendid, managing to be both light
    and gutsy, while Stornoway black pudding with bubble and squeak and
    a deep-fried egg is pure Cumbrian comfort by way of Lewis.

    There’s a fundamental generosity here, matched by assured
    technical precision. Duck à l’orange sees a plump breast
    cooked rare, the skin crisp, the sauce just the right side of bitter.
    It comes with a fat potato fondant and cabbage spiked
    with shards of smoked bacon. I eat rump of lamb, four
    vast just-pink slices, drenched in the stickiest, most gloriously
    intense of gravies; by its side, a tiny shepherd’s pie, one bite of pure
    ovine brilliance.

    Puddings are every bit as fine: a lemon tart, beautifully
    sharp, with damson sorbet (this part of the Lake District is
    famed for its damsons); along with a banana soufflé, this
    time the classic version but ethereal, served with vanilla ice cream and a pot of sticky-toffee sauce to
    pour deep into its molten centre. This is good old-fashioned food, immaculately done, in the
    sort of pub designed for lingering. It’s getting
    late now, and we’ve an early start. But first, another bottle of wine.

    Dinners like this are too rare to be rushed.

    In the past few days they have mounted self-serving arguments against proposed electoral reforms
    that the major parties look set to come together to
    support.

    The reforms include caps for how much money wealthy
    individuals can donate, caps on the amount candidates can spend in individual electorates to prevent the equivalent of an arms race,
    and a $90million limit on what any party can spend at an election – actually less than the major parties currently spend.

    The proposed new laws also include lower disclosure thresholds for donations, thus increasing the transparency of who makes political donations in the first place.

    So the wealthy wont be able to hide behind anonymity while using their cash to influence election outcomes – and the extent to which
    they can use their wealth at all will be limited.

    The bill will further improve transparency by also increasing the speed and frequency that disclosures
    of donations need to be made.

    At present we have the absurd situation in which
    donations get made – but you only find out the details of who
    has given what to whom many months later, well after elections are
    won and lost.

    In other words, what is broadly being proposed will result in much
    greater transparency and far less big money being injected into
    campaigning by the wealthy.

    Teal Kylea Tink claimed the major parties were ‘running scared’ with the policy and warned
    the reform would ‘not stop the rot’ 

    Greens senate leader Larissa Waters (left) fired a warning shot – saying if it
    serves only the major parties ‘it’s a rort, not reform’. Teal independent ACT senator David Pocock (right) said:
    ‘What seems to be happening is a major-party stitch-up’

    Anyone donating more than $1,000 to a political party, as opposed to $16,
    000 under the current rules, will need to disclose having done
    so. And how much they can donate will be capped.

    Yet the Greens and Teals have quickly condemned the proposed new laws, labeling them
    a ‘stitch-up’, ‘outrageous’ and ‘a rort, not
    a reform’. 

    They have lost their collective minds after finding out that Labor’s proposal just might secure the support of
    the opposition.

    I had to double check who was criticising what
    exactly before even starting to write this column.

    Because I had assumed – incorrectly – that these important
    transparency measures stamping out the influence of the wealthy must have been proposed
    by the virtue-signalling Greens or the corruption-fighting
    Teals, in a united crossbench effort to drag the major parties closer to accountability.

    More fool me.

    The bill, designed to clean up a rotten system, is being put forward
    by Labor and is opposed by a growing cabal of crossbenchers.

    It makes you wonder what they have to hide. Put simply, the Greens and Teals doth protest too
    much on this issue.

    Labor is thought to be trying to muscle out major political donors such as Clive Palmer

    Another potential target of the laws is businessman and
    Teal funder Simon Holmes à Court

    The major parties have long complained about the influence the likes of Simon Holmes à Court
    wields behind the scenes amongst the Teals. 

    And we know the Greens have taken massive donations from the wealthy in the past, contrary to their irregular calls to tighten donations rules.

    Now that tangible change has been proposed, these bastions of virtue are running a mile from reforms that will curtail dark art of political donations.

    The Labor government isn’t even seeking for these transparency rules to take effect immediately, by the way.
    It won’t be some sort of quick-paced power play before the next election designed
    to catch the crossbench out.

    They are aiming for implementation by 2026, giving everyone enough time
    to absorb and understand the changes before preparing for
    them.

    Don’t get me wrong, no deal has yet been done between Labor and the Coalition. I imagine the opposition want to go over the laws with
    a fine tooth comb.

    As they should – because it certainly isn’t beyond Labor to
    include hidden one-party advantages in the proposed
    design which would create loopholes only the unions are capable of
    taking advantage of, therefore disadvantaging the Coalition electorally in the
    years to come.

    But short of such baked-in trickiness scuttling a deal to get these proposed laws
    implemented, the crossbench should offer their support, not cynical opposition, to what is being advocated for.

    They might even be able to offer something worthwhile that could be
    incorporated in the package.

    To not do so exposes their utter hypocrisy and blowhard false commentary about
    being in politics to ‘clean things up’.

  210. Do Greens and crossbenchers who claim that transparency and integrity is at the heart
    of their reason for entering Parliament in the first place hear themselves?

    In the past few days they have mounted self-serving arguments against proposed electoral reforms that the major parties look set to come together to support.

    The reforms include caps for how much money wealthy individuals can donate, caps on the amount candidates can spend in individual electorates to prevent the equivalent of an arms race,
    and a $90million limit on what any party can spend at an election – actually less than the major parties currently spend.

    The proposed new laws also include lower disclosure thresholds for donations,
    thus increasing the transparency of who makes political donations in the first place.

    So the wealthy wont be able to hide behind anonymity while using their
    cash to influence election outcomes – and the extent to
    which they can use their wealth at all will be limited.

    The bill will further improve transparency by also increasing the speed and frequency that disclosures of donations need to be made.

    At present we have the absurd situation in which donations get made – but you only find
    out the details of who has given what to whom many months later, well after elections are
    won and lost.

    In other words, what is broadly being proposed will result in much greater transparency
    and far less big money being injected into campaigning by the wealthy.

    Teal Kylea Tink claimed the major parties were ‘running scared’ with the policy and warned the reform would ‘not stop the rot’

    Anyone donating more than $1,000 to a political party,
    as opposed to $16,000 under the current rules, will need to
    disclose having done so. And how much they can donate will be capped.

    Yet the Greens and Teals have quickly condemned the proposed new laws, labeling them a ‘stitch-up’, ‘outrageous’ and ‘a rort, not a
    reform’. 

    They have lost their collective minds after finding out that Labor’s proposal just might secure the support of the opposition.

    I had to double check who was criticising what exactly before even starting to write this column.

    Because I had assumed – incorrectly – that these important transparency measures stamping
    out the influence of the wealthy must have been proposed
    by the virtue-signalling Greens or the corruption-fighting Teals,
    in a united crossbench effort to drag the major parties closer to accountability.

    More fool me.

    The bill, designed to clean up a rotten system, is being put forward by Labor and is opposed by a growing cabal of crossbenchers.

    It makes you wonder what they have to hide. Put simply, the Greens and Teals doth protest too much on this issue.

    Labor is thought to be trying to muscle out major political donors such as Clive Palmer

    The major parties have long complained about the influence the likes of
    Simon Holmes à Court wields behind the scenes amongst the Teals. 

    And we know the Greens have taken massive donations from
    the wealthy in the past, contrary to their irregular calls to
    tighten donations rules.

    Now that tangible change has been proposed, these bastions of
    virtue are running a mile from reforms that will curtail dark art of political donations.

    The Labor government isn’t even seeking for these transparency rules to take effect immediately, by the way.
    It won’t be some sort of quick-paced power play before
    the next election designed to catch the crossbench out.

    They are aiming for implementation by 2026, giving everyone
    enough time to absorb and understand the changes before preparing for them.

    Don’t get me wrong, no deal has yet been done between Labor
    and the Coalition. I imagine the opposition want to go over the laws with a fine tooth comb.

    As they should – because it certainly isn’t beyond Labor to include
    hidden one-party advantages in the proposed design which would create
    loopholes only the unions are capable of taking advantage of, therefore disadvantaging the Coalition electorally in the years to
    come.

    But short of such baked-in trickiness scuttling a deal to get
    these proposed laws implemented, the crossbench should offer their support, not cynical opposition, to what is being advocated for.

    They might even be able to offer something worthwhile that could be incorporated in the package.

    To not do so exposes their utter hypocrisy and blowhard false commentary
    about being in politics to ‘clean things up’.

    Gift disclosure logs for the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) leadership
    positions show commissioners are all part of Australia’s
    ‘most exclusive club’ the Chairman’s Lounge membership extended by invite only by the Qantas chair.

    This has raised concerns over how impartial the body
    would be when dealing with Qantas matters. 

    If Mr Albanese has requested flight upgrades from former Qantas CEO Alan Joyce directly, as reported in a new book, he may have fallen foul of the strict Ministerial Code of Conduct which prohibits ministers from seeking ‘any kind of
    benefit’ 

    Commissioner Paul Brereton declared Chairman’s Lounge membership in 2023, as did the CEO Philip Reed and
    deputy commissioners Jaala Hinchcliffe and Nicole Rose, Sky News reported on Wednesday.

    A job ad for the Canberra Qantas Chairman’s Lounge sets out the requirements to serve the high
    and mighty

    Applicants must ‘have experience working in a fine dining environment and
    the ability to work a seven- day rotating roster.

    The claims Albanese received 22 upgrades from economy when booking Qantas flight by personally requesting them from Mr Joyce are made in a new book The Chairman’s Lounge by
    former Australian Financial Review columnist Joe Aston. 

    Aston alleged Mr Albanese directly contacted Mr Joyce while in his various parliamentary jobs, which
    included Minister for Transport to ask for special upgrades that only the CEO could
    dole out for himself or his family.

    According to unnamed Qantas ‘insiders’ 11 of the 22 flights Mr Albanese received upgrades for were ‘privately funded’ and included overseas
    trips to Rome, London, Los Angeles and Honolulu.

    The book also revealed that as well as son Nathan having a ‘plus one’ Chairman’s Lounge membership
    Mr Albanese’s partner Jodie Haydon did as well. 

    Mr Albanese insisted on Tuesday that all were ‘declared in the appropriate way’.

  219. Anyone who knows me has invariably been subject to a spiel about how much I love Claudia
    Winkleman. In part, it’s because she’s so silly,
    and in part, it’s because I’m a huge fan of everything she presents,
    from Strictly to The Traitors. 

    But even more than any of that, it’s because I’m obsessed with everything she
    wears. I’ve spent a fortune copying her exact outfits,
    from her Sister Jane heart cutout dress to a bedazzled Nadine Merabi blazer that I definitely don’t go anywhere fancy enough to wear.

    Since 2005, Claudia has worked with stylist Sinead McKeefry to perfect her signature style.
    I’d describe it as soft goth: lots of black,
    velvet and chunky knits, with a fair few sequins and prints (particularly tartan) thrown in. I’m not alone in my reverence: there are
    entire Instagram accounts dedicated to tracking down the presenter’s outfits.
    But while they offer incredibly useful style inspo, two issues arise repeatedly:
    Claudia’s clothes are usually hugely expensive or sold out
    (or both).

    So when the Strictly host stepped out in a typically preppy black velvet
    mini dress on Sunday, you’d be forgiven for assuming it was by some top-end designer.

    The movie studio spent about $200 million to produce the film and about $100 million on marketing and distribution, according to the report.

    A Warner Bros. spokesperson responded to the report, saying
    ‘Any estimates suggested by anonymous “insiders” or “rival executives” are grossly wrong and continues a trend where
    rumor is reported as fact.’

    ‘The film continues to play in theatrical release, included with this week’s
    opening in China, and will continue to earn revenue throughout its home viewing and ancillary run.’

    So far, the musical about Batman’s nemesis has grossed $51.5 million domestically and $165 million globally after two weeks
    of release.

    In comparison, the first Joker grossed $96.2 million domestically and $248.4 million globally after three days of release.

    The hotly-anticipated sequel to the 2019 billion dollar Oscar-winning film was considered a surefire hit for Warner Bros Pictures, yet ended up being slammed by critics and failed to ignite at the
    box office. 

    Joker: Folie À Deux has garnered the lowest CinemaScore in comic book movie history as the film bombed at
    the box office on opening night.

    A source said: ‘If the first movie was about some down-on-his-luck, mentally ill guy
    in a downtrodden city, it makes maybe $150 [million] worldwide.
    Not a billion. People showed up because that guy was Joker.’

    In an apparent snub by Phillips, the opening sequence of the
    film does not include a DC Studios logo.

    A Warner spokesman added that a DC logo appears at the end of
    the Joker sequel, while Phillips declined to comment to the publication.

    Several frictions are said to have developed between Phillips, DC and Warner- with claims that Michael DeLuca, Chairperson of Warner Bros.
    Entertainment, and CEO Pamela Abdy seemed ‘unwilling’
    to say no to Phillips due to his huge past successes.

    It is claimed Phillips would ‘only’ speak with DeLuca and Abdy rather than Gunn
    and Safran – who took control of DC two months before production began on Joker 2 in December 2022.

    Gunn and Safran did attend the first director’s cut screening for
    the studio but Phillips fueled rift speculation when he told a reporter: ‘With all due respect to them,
    this is kind of a Warner Bros. movie.’

    Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav also met with Phillips shortly after WarnerMedia
    and Discovery merged in April 2022 and was ‘open to
    filming in Los Angeles if the director would
    make the sequel at a lower price point.’

    The studio wanted to film in London which would have cost around 20 per cent less.

    ‘The one thing about genre stuff: If you don’t listen and pay
    attention to what the fan expectations are, you’re going to fail’;
    director Todd Phillips seen with Gaga and Phoenix

    However, Phillips insisted on filming in LA with the budget remaining static.

    A Warner spokesman told the publication the studio
    ‘supported the decision to film in Los Angeles’.

    A source directly involved with the film said: ‘No one could get through to Todd.
    And the one thing about genre stuff: If you don’t
    listen and pay attention to what the fan expectations are,
    you’re going to fail.

    Insiders also claim studio bosses did not want to premiere the film at the Venice Film Festival, but
    Phillips pushed back – with a Warner spokesman saying the studio ‘fully supported the decision to bring the film
    to Venice. 

    Along with Gaga and Phoenix, other stars that had appeared in the
    sequel include Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Zazie Beatz and Steve Coogan.

    could spoil the vibe at Paris´ biggest beach party.

    Canada´s Brandie Wilkerson and Brazil´s Ana Patrícia got into a finger-pointing shouting
    match across the net in the tiebreaking third set of the beach volleyball final of the Paris Olympics on Friday night.
    The referee tried to keep the peace, but it was the Eiffel Tower Stadium DJ who cooled tempers
    on the sand by playing John Lennon´s “Imagine”
    over the PA system.

    The players laughed and clapped. The crowd applauded and sang along.

    Wilkerson was shown a yellow card.

    The top-ranked Brazilians left with the gold medal.

    “We`re competitors and we are fighting for the same thing: There´s only one gold medal,” Wilkerson said during a post-match news conference in which the two laughed and
    jokingly put up their fists as if they were going to brawl it out.

    “Immediately after the game, it´s all love and respect,” she said.
    “We bring out the best in each other, and I´m honored to play against this team.”

    Ana Patrícia and Duda rallied from an 11-5 deficit to take the first-to-21, win-by-two first
    set 26-24, and Canada won the second 21-12. Brazil
    opened up a 12-7 lead in the first-to-15 tiebreaker when, after a joust at the net,
    Wilkerson and Ana Patrícia began pointing fingers at each other.

    The second referee, the one at sand level, moved
    out to separate the two players, but Wilkerson continued to
    argue and picked up a yellow card. As the Brazilians
    got into position to serve for the next point, the DJ began playing “Imagine,”
    the late Beatle’s song calling for unity and peace.

    The message resonated with the players.

    “What a beautiful opportunity we have to play the finals under the Eiffel Tower against the best in the world,” Wilkerson said.
    “Like, that, in of itself, is a win.”

    Wilkerson told reporters afterward that it was all a misunderstanding: She was responding to her family,
    cheering in the crowd behind the Brazilians,
    and Ana Patrícia thought Wilkerson was taunting her.

    “We´re pretty amped up, partners are coming in, refs are coming in. So it was a bit of a mess,” Wilkerson said.
    “But after the game, and even right when they came to shake our hands, still on the court, there was an immediate hug and just kind of like, `Hey, it´s all good.´”

    When play resumed, it took Brazil only five more points to finish off Wilkerson and Melissa Humana-Paredes, kicking off a party
    the sport’s spiritual home hadn’t seen since hosting the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games at Copacabana.
    In Tokyo, the country was shut out at the Summer Games for the
    first time since beach volleyball was added to the program in 1996.

    Three years later, Brazil not only returned to the podium but climbed to
    its top step.

    With the Eiffel Tower’s strobes sparking in the background and yellow-
    and green-wearing fans singing and waving
    Brazilian flags, the country was awarded its first women’s gold since Atlanta.
    (The United States, which had won four of the last five,
    was shut out in both the men’s and women’s tournaments in Paris.)

    After the medal ceremony, the Canadians and Brazilians –
    along with the bronze-winning Swiss – posed for selfies together.
    Wilkerson and Ana Patrícia spoke to each other and hugged; there
    may have even been an air kiss.

    “It was a game thing,” Ana Patrícia said. “Everybody wants to win. But it happens. It´s everybody trying to win, but now everything is OK.”

    Wilkerson and Humana-Paredes will return to Canada with the country’s first beach volleyball medal since the men won bronze
    at the 1996 Atlanta Games. That team was coached by Humana-Paredes’ father.

    Switzerland beat Australia in straight sets in the third-place game earlier Friday
    night to earn the bronze medal.

    Nina Brunner and Tanja Huerberli beat Tokyo silver medalists Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar 21-17, 21-15 in 39 minutes.
    It was the second Summer Games in a row that a Swiss team
    took the bronze medal, coming three years after Joana Heidrich and
    Anouk Vergé-Dépré placed third in Tokyo.

    On the men’s side, Sweden was set to face Germany for gold
    on Saturday night, with Norway and Qatar playing for the bronze.
