Um homem de 60 anos e uma mulher de 47 foram levados a um abrigo da Prefeitura de Nova Serrana, após uma denúncia de trabalho escravo. O casal compareceu à base da Guarda Civil Municipal (GCM) na madrugada deste domingo (23).

Segundo relatado pelo casal, eles trabalhavam como caseiros em um sítio próximo à cidade de Perdigão. Com jornada superior a oito horas diárias, não tinham direito a descanso semanal e o salário não chegava sequer a um salário mínimo. Além disso, precisavam pagar pelos instrumentos de trabalho utilizados.

O casal foi levado para a Unidade de Pronto Atendimento (UPA), onde foi constatado que a mulher estava com sinais de desnutrição e aparentemente fome. Após o atendimento médico, eles foram para um abrigo e a ocorrência entregue na Delegacia de Polícia Civil.
