CEMIG ALERTA POPULAÇÃO SOBRE CUIDADOS E SEGURANÇA DURANTE TEMPESTADES

Minas Gerais é um dos estados com a maior incidência de raios do Brasil. E com o início do período chuvoso, as ocorrências de chuvas fortes, que geralmente vem acompanhadas de ventos intensos e raios, já sendo registradas em todo estado. Por isso a Cemig alerta para os cuidados que todos devem ter em relação ao tema. Desta forma, é muito importante que a população esteja atenta para evitar acidentes – que podem ser fatais – e também proteja equipamentos eletrônicos, que podem ser danificados durantes as tempestades.

O gerente de Saúde e Segurança do Trabalho da Cemig, João José Magalhães Soares, destaca que durante as tempestades com raios as pessoas devem procurar abrigo imediatamente. “Caso a pessoa esteja na rua, ela deve procurar um local seguro, como um estabelecimento residencial ou comercial. O mesmo vale para regiões rurais. Além disso, é importante não ficar debaixo de árvores ou de postes, que podem atrair a descarga atmosférica e, consequentemente, eletrocutar quem esteja próximo. O raio pode provocar queimaduras gravíssimas e pode provocar parada cardiorrespiratória, que pode levar a pessoa à morte”.

Soares ressalta que todos os equipamentos elétricos devem ser retirados das tomadas para evitar risco de queima. Essa atitude preventiva também contribui para a segurança das pessoas. “A rede elétrica da Cemig possui para-raios ao longo de sua extensão, que são dispositivos de proteção contra elevações bruscas das tensões. Porém, durante as chuvas, o raio, ao cair próximo às residências, pode causar grandes sobretensões nas redes elétricas internas das residências, comércios ou indústrias, que também precisam possuir seus próprios dispositivos de proteção contra essas variações elevadas provocadas pelas descargas atmosféricas”, alerta.

Desta forma, continua João José Magalhães Soares, “as sobretensões podem atingir os aparelhos elétricos destas instalações ou os moradores que estiverem em contato com estas unidades, provocando o defeito no equipamento e o choque ou queimadura na pessoa. Por este motivo, sempre que possível, a recomendação é retirar os equipamentos eletro eletrônicos das tomadas em caso de chuvas com descargas atmosféricas, para evitar acidentes”, completa.

De acordo com o especialista da companhia, o telefone celular só deve ser utilizado caso o carregador de bateria do aparelho não esteja plugado na tomada. Essa recomendação vale para qualquer situação, independentemente se forem dias de chuva ou de sol.

– Fio Partido

Uma das principais ocorrências durante tempestades intensas é o fio partido, principalmente quando há quedas de árvores sobre a rede elétrica, ou quando objetos são lançados em direção aos cabos, em função da força dos ventos, provocando o seu rompimento. Caso as pessoas se deparem com um fio partido, elas não podem se aproximar ou tocar no cabeamento e, se possível, não devem permitir que outras pessoas se aproximem também.

A recomendação é telefonar imediatamente para o Fale com a Cemig, no telefone 116, que funciona 24 horas por dia. Se uma árvore cair na frente de sua residência, nunca tente retirá-la ou cortá-la e chame o corpo de bombeiros para retirar esta árvore. Em muitos casos, no meio da árvore caída, pode existir um cabo partido da rede elétrica que pode estar energizado e escondido no meio dos galhos e, ao tentar retirar a árvore, a pessoa pode sofrer um choque elétrico de até 13.800 volts, com risco de morte ou graves queimaduras.
