A Copasa iniciou nesta semana as obras de implantação do sistema de esgotamento sanitário em Conceição do Pará. Ao todo, serão investidos mais de R$ 12 milhões na construção de ligações prediais, redes coletoras, estações elevatórias e interceptores que irão transportar o efluente até as duas Estações de Tratamento de Esgoto (ETE) da sede do município e do distrito de Casquilho de Baixo.
A ordem de serviço foi assinada no último dia 19 de julho, na sede da prefeitura, e contou com a presença do prefeito José Cassimiro Rodrigues; do superintendente da Unidade de Negócio Centro (UNCE) da Copasa, Eduardo Rigotto; do gerente Regional de Divinópolis, Madson Brandão; e do gerente da Unidade de Expansão Centro, Paulo Farage.
A previsão é que as obras sejam concluídas em 12 meses, com a geração de 30 empregos diretos e renda para o município. Todos os cerca de 5 mil habitantes serão beneficiados com o serviço. O superintendente da Copasa na região, Eduardo Rigotto, reforçou o compromisso da companhia com o desenvolvimento dos municípios em que opera.
“A cidade de Conceição do Pará dá um exemplo de empreendedorismo ao assumir sua responsabilidade pelo tratamento de esgoto de sua cidade, por meio da contratação da Copasa para executar a implantação do moderno sistema de coleta e tratamento do esgoto. Este é um importante passo rumo à universalização do saneamento, cuja Lei Federal 14.026/20, que estabelece meta de atendimento de 99% da população com água tratada e 90% com esgoto tratado, em todos os municípios brasileiros”, lembrou Rigotto.
Ele ainda ressalta que a companhia tem mais projetos para otimizar o atendimento aos conceição-paraenses. “Em relação ao atendimento desta desafiadora meta de abastecimento de água tratada, o município também está agindo. Por meio do programa Universaliza Minas, o prefeito Cassimiro está promovendo um aditivo ao contrato existente com a Copasa, que visa contemplar as comunidades rurais do município com a implantação de sistemas de abastecimento de água que serão geridos pela Copasa, conferindo a estes melhor qualidade na prestação de serviços”, concluiu.

O tratamento de esgoto proporciona benefícios sociais, econômicos e a melhoria das condições de saúde da população. Com o sistema de esgotamento sanitário, o município está habilitado a receber o ICMS Ecológico, como forma de incentivo para criação de mais áreas de preservação ambiental ou para melhoria das condições dos atuais espaços existentes, garantindo mais qualidade de vida e saúde para os moradores.
Além disso, a destinação adequada do esgoto evita propagação de doenças de veiculação hídrica, melhoria do Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano (IDH) e proporciona mudanças positivas nos aspectos urbanísticos, com a valorização imobiliária e o crescimento socioeconômico da cidade e região.
