O Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (Enem) poderá ser usado para acessar o ensino superior por meio de programas federais como o Sistema de Seleção Unificada (Sisu) e o Programa Universidade para Todos (ProUni). As notas, tanto da versão impressa quanto da versão digital do Enem 2020, serão divulgadas no dia 29 de março.
O Sisu seleciona estudantes para vagas em instituições públicas de ensino superior. Para concorrer, os candidatos não podem ter tirado zero na prova de redação. O Sisu geralmente tem duas edições no ano. A primeira delas ocorre em janeiro. Neste ano, por causa da pandemia do novo coronavírus, o programa será adiado. Ainda não foi divulgada a data de realização do processo seletivo.
As próprias universidades públicas também estão cumprindo calendários diversos. Muitas instituições suspenderam as aulas para evitar a propagação do vírus, o que levou ao adiamento da conclusão dos semestres de 2020. De acordo com o painel de monitoramento do Ministério da Educação, pelo menos em nove instituições federais, o ano letivo de 2020 se estende para 2021.
Já o ProUni seleciona estudantes para bolsas de estudos em instituições privadas de ensino superior. As bolsas podem ser integrais, de 100% da mensalidade, ou parciais, de 50%. Para concorrer às bolsas integrais, o estudante deve comprovar renda familiar bruta mensal, por pessoa, de até 1,5 salário mínimo. Para as bolsas parciais, a renda familiar bruta mensal deve ser de até três salários mínimos por pessoa. É preciso também não ter zerado a redação do Enem e ter obtido, no mínimo, 450 pontos na média das notas das provas.
A primeira edição do ProUni deste ano, para que não ocorresse atraso na seleção, usou as notas do Enem 2019. Ainda não foram divulgadas as informações da próxima edição.
A nota pode também ser usada para obter financiamento pelo Fundo de Financiamento Estudantil (Fies), que oferece financiamento a condições mais atrativas que as disponíveis no mercado.
Além dos processos seletivos conduzidos pelo governo federal, as instituições de ensino públicas e privadas têm liberdade para usar as notas em processos seletivos próprios. Os candidatos podem checar nas instituições onde têm interesse em estudar quais são os critérios adotados.
Instituições de ensino estrangeiras também utilizam as notas do Enem em processos seletivos. Atualmente, o Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira (Inep) tem convênio com 51 instituições de ensino em Portugal. Cada instituição define as regras e os pesos para uso das notas. A lista das instituições está disponível no portal do Inep.
