    CONSUMIDOR PODERÁ DENUNCIAR ‘GATO’ QUE TEM EM CASA OU COMÉRCIO SEM LEVAR MULTA

    Quem tem alguma ligação clandestina de água, popularmente conhecida como “gato”, em casa ou estabelecimento comercial poderá, a partir de hoje (3), comunicar à Copasa sem que seja multado. A autodenúncia será realizada pelo site da companhia.
    A informação foi divulgada ontem (2) pela empresa.
    “Nós queremos que aquela população que hoje está com uma ligação clandestina na sua casa ou está com seu hidrômetro fraudado que autodenuncie no site da Copasa. Nós garantiremos o sigilo necessário”, explicou a diretora de Relacionamento e Mercado da Copasa, Cristiane Schwanka.
    Segundo ela, no momento do registro no site, vai ser solicitado o endereço para que funcionários da Copasa possam ir identificar o sistema de fraude e regularizar a ligação.
    “Não vai ter ônus a esse cliente. Vamos regularizar a situação sem multa, que hoje é uma penalidade. Hoje, aquele que rouba água está sujeito a uma multa de até 15 vezes a fatura média que ele teria se fosse um consumidor regular. Além do endereço será solicitado um elemento de contato, número de telefone ou e-mail”, detalhou Cristiane.
    O consumidor terá o prazo de 90 dias para realizar a autodenúncia.
