Chegou ontem (24) a Minas Gerais a remessa com 190,5 mil doses da vacina Covishield, desenvolvida pelo laboratório AstraZeneca/Universidade de Oxford em parceria com a Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz). Ela será utilizada apenas na aplicação da primeira dose da vacina, seguindo a regra dos grupos prioritários. Dessa forma, pouco mais de 190 mil pessoas vão receber o imunizante.
De acordo com a Secretaria de Estado de Saúde (SES-MG), o intervalo entre a aplicação da primeira dose e da segunda é de três meses. Com isso, o governo de Minas espera que o Ministério da Saúde envie, em tempo hábil, as doses restantes para a aplicação da segunda etapa da vacina nessas pessoas.
Os estudos de soroconversão da vacina Covishield demonstraram resultados em 98% dos indivíduos em 28 dias após a primeira dose, e 99% em 28 dias após a segunda dose. A eficácia da vacina foi demonstrada em um esquema contendo 2 doses com intervalo de 12 semanas. Os indivíduos que tinham uma ou mais comorbidades tiveram uma eficácia da vacina de 73,43%.
As vacinas foram armazenadas na Central Estadual de Rede Frio de Minas Gerais, na capital. O transporte foi realizado com a escolta da Polícia Militar. A previsão é que as doses sejam distribuídas para os municípios na quarta-feira (27).
