Nova Serrana acumulava, até hoje (29), 1531 casos positivos de dengue. O município ainda registra 73 casos suspeitos e dois óbitos confirmados pela doença. Além disso, os dados da Secretaria Municipal de Saúde também apontam duas confirmações por chikungunya.

Os bairros com maior índice de casos, no momento são: Novo Horizonte, Itapuã, Centro, São Marcos, Concesso Elias, Cidade Nova, Planalto, Santana, Santa Maria, Campo Belo, Jeferson Batista, Industrial José Silva De Almeida, Fábio Aguiar, Santo Expedito, Laranjeiras, André de Freitas e Romeu Duarte.

Os focos são mais encontrados em ralinhos de banheiros, vaso sanitário em desuso, caixas d’água sem tampas, embalagens plásticas, pneus, lixo e sucatas, e tambores com água pra uso diário. Eles são constantemente encontrados e eliminados quando possível, quando é inviável a eliminação é realizado o tratamento focal, com o produto químico fornecido pelo governo do estadual.

O último Levantamento de Índice Rápido de Infestação do Aeds Aegypti (LIRAa), realizado em outubro 2022, foi de IIP 2,8%, colocando Nova Serrana como médio risco para uma epidemia de dengue.

A prefeitura disse que as ações de mobilização social são contínuas, em escolas com o programa Saúde na Escola, em parceria com a atenção primária e com a secretaria de Educação e também com ações sociais da secretaria de Desenvolvimento Social. A pasta também destacou a participação em Sipats (Semana Interna de Prevenção de Acidentes do Trabalho), no decorrer do ano em fábricas de calçados, e palestras sobre dengue nas empresas do município.

Nesse momento, nenhum cidadão de Nova Serrana está internado por dengue.
