    DIVINÓPOLIS: PAI DE SANTO É INDICIADO POR ESTUPROS E ABORTO

    Um homem, de 53 anos, que atuava como pai de santo no município de Divinópolis, foi preso preventivamente por estupro, nesta segunda-feira (8). O mandado judicial foi cumprimento no âmbito da operação Resguardo, considerada a maior ação de combate a crimes de violência contra a mulher no Brasil, que teve participação da Polícia Civil (PC). O trabalho investigativo identificou, até o momento, cinco mulheres vítimas, com idades entre 28 e 56 anos.
    As investigações tiveram início em março de 2020, quando a PC recebeu uma denúncia de que um líder espiritual teria praticado diversos abusos sexuais contra várias mulheres e adolescentes. Conforme apurado, durante as sessões, o pai de santo se valia da sua posição de sacerdote espiritual para abusar das vítimas, que o procuravam buscando auxílio para cura de doenças físicas e emocionais.
    “Segundo relato das vítimas, o líder espiritual ministrava chás e sabonetes de ervas com a promessa de cura. O homem então começava a acariciar o corpo delas, sob o argumento de estar fazendo o ato em nome de espíritos”, informa a delegada que preside o inquérito, Maria Gorete Rios, ao revelar a existência de fortes indícios de que o investigado teria praticado aborto em uma das vítimas sem o consentimento dela e, em outra circunstância, transmitido DST a outra, à época, adolescente.
    Algumas vítimas ainda relataram ter sofrido ameaças por parte do suspeito, quando decidiam parar de frequentar o centro e o denunciar. A partir das apurações, a PCMG reuniu as provas e representou pelo mandado de prisão preventiva do suspeito, que foi detido quando saía da residência dele, no bairro Floresta. O investigado, que nega os crimes, foi encaminhado ao sistema prisional, onde se encontra à disposição da Justiça.
    Ao todo, três inquéritos foram concluídos e remetidos à Justiça, com indiciamento do investigado pelos crimes de estupro e aborto. Além disso, um quarto inquérito está em andamento e apura a paternidade do filho de uma das vítimas, o qual supostamente seria do investigado.
