GOVERNO LANÇA PROGRAMA DE DISTRIBUIÇÃO GRATUITA DE ABSORVENTE PELO SUS

O Ministério da Saúde informou hoje (8) que assegurará a oferta de absorventes pelo Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), com foco na população que está abaixo da linha da pobreza. O presidente da República, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, assinou nesta quarta-feira um decreto que cria o Programa de Proteção e Promoção da Dignidade Menstrual.

A nova política segue os critérios do Programa Bolsa Família, incluindo estudantes de baixa renda matriculados em escolas públicas, pessoas em situação de rua ou de vulnerabilidade social extrema. A distribuição é garantida pela Lei Federal 14.214 de 2021, mas o governo anterior foi contra a política. O texto, aprovado pelo Senado em setembro de 2021, foi sancionado pelo então presidente da República Jair Bolsonaro que, no entanto, vetou a distribuição gratuita dos absorventes.

Também serão atendidas pessoas em situação de privação de liberdade, que cumprem medidas socioeducativas. O ministério acrescenta que o programa, voltado a todas as pessoas que menstruam, alcançará mulheres cisgênero, homens trans, pessoas transmasculinas, pessoas não binárias e intersexo.
