O governador Romeu Zema inaugurou, nesta segunda-feira (17), em Divinópolis, a Linha Tronco do Gasoduto Centro-Oeste, da Companhia de Gás de Minas Gerais (Gasmig). O evento marcou a chegada do gás natural canalizado à região.
O projeto tem investimento total de mais de R$ 800 milhões, alçando o novo gasoduto à maior obra de infraestrutura da Gasmig da última década. Serão construídos, ao longo do projeto, 300 quilômetros de rede, representando 23% da atual malha de distribuição da companhia. “É um momento muito importante para a região, já que o gasoduto vai trazer uma fonte de energia limpa e mais barata para que a população possa ter gás encanado em suas casas, trazendo mais conforto, atração de novas indústrias e fortalecimento das empresas locais. Isso demonstra todo o nosso compromisso com a região Centro-Oeste e toda Minas Gerais”, destacou o governador Romeu Zema.
Os 110 quilômetros da Linha Tronco, que liga Betim a Divinópolis, já estão finalizados. Com isso, oito novos municípios passam a estar diretamente conectados à rede de distribuição de gás natural: Betim, Sarzedo, Igarapé, São Joaquim de Bicas, Juatuba, Mateus Leme, Itaúna e Divinópolis. Juntos, os oito municípios respondem por aproximadamente 10% do PIB industrial e 7% do PIB total de Minas Gerais, o que reforça a relevância econômica e estratégica deste projeto.
O gás natural apresenta vantagens significativas: é uma fonte de energia menos poluente, contribuindo para a redução de emissões e proporcionando ganhos ambientais. Ele oferece fornecimento contínuo e seguro, sem necessidade de estocagem, e também garante maior praticidade e eficiência para consumidores residenciais, comerciais e industriais.
Assim, o gasoduto torna a região Centro-Oeste mais competitiva, amplia a eficiência das indústrias, favorece a atração de novos empreendimentos e a geração de empregos.
