RELATED: What PGA Tour tournament directors do to entice tour pros to play in their events The defending champ, DJ, has the second-shortest odds to win the 2021 Travelers Championship. Johnson was not one of the Top 30 finishers in his three previous tournaments here at TPC River Highlands, but he claimed the trophy in just his second appearance here last year. It might be wise to avoid Johnson though as he has not finished higher than T8 since winning the Masters last November. Tiger Woods Odds: British Open Final Major Of 2022 Season He started his winning campaign last week with an opening 65, just a stroke off the lead; one week earlier, he posted a 68 at Pebble Beach, just three back at the time. Odds have been up for this one for a long time, as the odds are always up early for major tournaments. We’ll grab them from MyBookie Sportsbook for the event and see if we can pick out the winner of the fourth and final major of the 2020-21 PGA Tour season. And here at oddschecker, we’re no different. After a break for World War I, The Royal and Ancient Golf Club became the sole organizer of the tournament in 1920, which remains the case in present day. In 1922, Walter Hagen became the first American-born champion when he claimed victory in his first of what would be four Open Championships. Fellow American golfer Bobby Jones won three times between 1923-33, as U.S.-based players began to dominate the event. Ben Hogan played The Open one time, winning it in 1953 after already winning the Masters and the U.S. Open, becoming the first player to win the “Triple Crown,” before the PGA Championship was added as the fourth major.
