O ministro das Relações Exteriores do Brasil, Mauro Vieira, conversou com o ministro das Relações Exteriores da Jordânia, Ayman Safadi, para abrir uma rota de retirada dos políticos brasileiros que estão em Israel.
O grupo de brasileiros, com pelo menos 41 autoridades estaduais e municipais, participava de uma feira de tecnologia e segurança quando o país foi alvo de ataques iranianos em retaliação a bombardeios israelenses contra instalações nucleares no Irã. Fazem parte do grupo o prefeito de Belo Horizonte, Álvaro Damião, e a vice-prefeita de Divinópolis, Janete Aparecida.
A ideia é levar o grupo por terra até a fronteira com a Jordânia assim que as condições de segurança permitirem. As operações do aeroporto Internacional de Tel Aviv estão suspensas desde o início dos bombardeios. O espaço aéreo na região está fechado. O Itamaraty conversa com diplomatas israelenses para garantir a segurança do grupo, que foi levado para um abrigo subterrâneo quando os ataques começaram. O governo brasileiro solicitou tratamento prioritário para eles e ouviu das autoridades israelenses que a recomendação é para que comitivas estrangeiras continuem no país, até que as condições permitam qualquer deslocamento desses grupos por via aérea ou terrestre.
A FAB (Força Aérea Brasileira) diz que está “de prontidão” para fazer o resgate das autoridades brasileiras em Israel, caso haja possibilidade. A Aeronáutica afirmou que a operação está organizada, mas ponderou haver condicionantes. É necessário que o pedido seja feito pelo Ministério das Relações Exteriores. O Itamaraty está tratando da situação diretamente com o governo israelense.
