Na quarta (2), policiais militares do Sexagésimo Batalhão receberam uma ligação através do 190, onde uma mãe alegava que seu filho, de apenas treze dias de nascimento, estava engasgado, estando com a cor bastante roxa, quase sem respiração.
De imediato, os militares do Centro de Operações (COPOM) acionaram as viaturas do turno e mantiveram a mãe na ligação passando orientações de desengasgamento até que a viatura chegasse no local. Na residência, no bairro Veredas da Serra, os militares pegaram a criança no colo e iniciaram a “Manobra de Heimlich”, sendo que, após alguns instantes, o bebê expeliu uma pequena secreção que estava provocando o engasgo, liberando a respiração novamente.
Diante dos fatos narrados, a criança e a mãe foram encaminhadas para o hospital, onde foram devidamente assistidas pela equipe médica de emergência, tendo verificado que o bebê estava bem e com boa oxigenação.
Militares da PMMG são treinados para as mais diversas situações de urgências, emergências e cotidianas, além das funções de segurança pública e defesa social.
COMO FAZER A MANOBRA DE HEIMLICH
No caso de bebês, o procedimento correto é colocar a vítima sobre o colo, com a cabeça levemente mais baixa que o tronco, e dar cinco tapas firmes nas suas costas (com a parte mais “dura” da mão) mais ou menos na altura dos ombros, desta forma:
Chame o serviço de emergência pelos telefones 193 ou 192!
Passo 1
Tente manter a calma. Não tente retirar o objeto da garganta do bebê, pois você poderá empurrá-lo ainda mais fundo, piorando a situação.
Passo 2
Com o dedo indicador e médio, segure a boca do bebê aberta. Coloque a criança deitada de barriga para baixo, em cima do seu antebraço, com a cabeça mais baixa que o corpo. Apoie seu antebraço na sua coxa para ter mais firmeza.
Passo 3
Dê 5 tapas com a base da mão entre os ombros, no meio das costas do bebê. Com um pouco de força, mas sem machucá-lo.
Passo 4
Coloque o bebê deitado de costas sobre o outro antebraço apoiado sobre a coxa. Faça 5 compressões com dois dedos no meio do peito, entre os mamilos. Cada compressão deve ter 4 centímetros.
Passo 5
Olhe para o bebê. Se ele chorar, vomitar ou tossir é sinal que desengasgou e sua cor voltará ao normal. Se o bebê ficar inconsciente ou sem reação, vá para o passo 6.
Passo 6
Se o bebê continuar “molinho”, sem nenhuma reação, ele pode estar inconsciente. Neste caso, continua tentando pedir ajuda ao Corpo de Bombeiros (193) e ao SAMU (192).
O que NÃO fazer
No desespero, muitos pais e cuidadores têm o reflexo de tentar tirar o objeto ou alimento que está causando o engasgado. É errado!
