Para reforçar o combate à covid-19 no estado, a partir do ano que vem, a Secretaria de Estado de Saúde (SES-MG), pretende incluir o imunizante contra a covid no calendário nacional de vacinação.
“Estamos em um momento melhor e isso se deve, obviamente, à vacinação. E vamos continuar lembrando e reforçando a importância de se imunizar, pois muita gente ainda não se vacinou. A expectativa é a de que a vacina faça parte do calendário. Não sabemos ainda se será uma ou duas doses, estamos discutindo isso junto ao Ministério da Saúde e essa decisão deve sair até o final do ano, para que a gente se planeje para aplicar esse reforço em 2023”, ressaltou o secretário de Estado de Saúde, o médico Fábio Baccheretti.
Minas está atualmente com 88% de cobertura da primeira dose para o público-alvo e 83% de cobertura na segunda dose e dose única. Já nas doses de reforço, a cobertura é de 63% na primeira aplicação e 41% da segunda. Em relação ao público infantil, de cinco a nove anos, a primeira dose está em 62% de cobertura e 44% na segunda dose.
“Hoje, o risco de pegar covid é muito baixo, mas há um aumento de casos na Europa e nos EUA. Isso se deve ao período de outono e inverno lá. A partir de março do ano que vem, isso deve acontecer aqui também, devido ao período de aumento de doenças respiratórias, dentre elas a covid. Portanto, vamos nos preparar para o período de sazonalidade. Claro que a doença não vai ser como foi, porque estamos vacinados, mas quem está atrasado precisa se preparar porque daqui a pouco o vírus volta a circular assim como a gripe”, explicou o secretário.
