    MINAS ULTRAPASSA A MARCA DE 1 MILHÃO DE DOSES CONTRA COVID APLICADAS EM CRIANÇAS

    Minas Gerais ultrapassou, na quarta-feira (9), a marca de 1 milhão de doses pediátricas da vacina contra a covid-19 aplicadas em crianças de cinco a 11 anos. Em quase dois meses de campanha, a cobertura vacinal dos pequenos alcançou 56% do público infantil com a primeira dose. Além disso, cerca de 49 mil crianças já receberam a segunda dose da vacina, totalizando 2,6% do público-alvo com duas dosagens. Os dados são do Vacinômetro.

    O número pode ser ainda maior, já que muitas prefeituras ainda não enviaram ou estão enviando gradualmente os dados de vacinação para a Secretaria de Estado de Saúde (SES-MG). Aproximadamente 1,8 milhão de meninos e meninas de cinco a 11 anos estão aptos a receber a dose da vacina contra a covid-19 em Minas Gerais.

    O secretário de Estado de Saúde, o médico Fábio Baccheretti, destacou a eficácia dos imunizantes e a importância da vacinação infantil para garantir a saúde dos pequenos. “A vacina é segura, tanto Pfizer quanto CoronaVac. É a única saída para a pandemia. Temos muitas doses disponíveis e muitas crianças ainda não foram tomar. Não acreditem em fake news, acreditem em informação de verdade. Vacinem as crianças para protegê-las”, enfatizou.

    O secretário também ressaltou o ritmo da vacinação infantil no estado. “No começo, houve alguma desconfiança, mas à medida que foi havendo uma grande procura, as pessoas foram constatando que não havia nada de grave. Desta forma, os pais ou responsáveis se sentiram mais seguros. Já aplicamos um milhão de doses em crianças e não tivemos nenhum evento adverso grave. Ou seja, a vacina é segura e este é o caminho que temos em relação à pandemia”, disse.
