O Instituto Butantan entrega hoje (23) 1,2 milhão de doses da vacina CoronaVac para o governo federal. O montante faz parte das 3,4 milhões que serão distribuídas ao Ministério da Saúde nos próximos dias.
A expectativa inicial era a de fazer oito remessas diárias de 426 mil. Entretanto, segundo Dimas Covas, diretor do Instituto, a capacidade foi ampliada e já nesta terça serão entregues 1,2 milhão de doses.
Os lotes fazem parte dos acordos firmados entre o Instituto e o governo federal para a entrega da vacina feita pelo laboratório chinês Sinovac em parceria com o Butantan.
Na semana passada, o Ministério da Saúde assinou contrato com o Instituto Butantan para o fornecimento de 54 milhões de doses da vacina Coronavac. O montante se soma às 46 milhões já adquiridas, totalizando 100 milhões de doses da CoronaVac a serem entregues até setembro.
Além desses 100 milhões, na última sexta (19), o Ministério da Saúde enviou ao Butantan um ofício para adquirir mais 30 milhões de doses da CoronaVac. A solicitação é analisada pelo Instituto.
