Segundo projeção da Fundação João Pinheiro (FJP), há cerca de 1,9 milhão de pessoas na faixa etária de 60 a 69 anos em Minas Gerais. Portanto, esta distribuição já contempla 80% dessa população. Desses, 941.097 já estão aptos a tomar a segunda dose de reforço imediatamente, por terem tomado o primeiro reforço há pelo menos quatro meses.
Para melhor preservação dos imunobiológicos, todas as vacinas são acondicionadas, conferidas e separadas na Central Estadual de Rede de Frio antes do envio para as Unidades Regionais de Saúde. A distribuição é realizada a partir da demanda de cada regional, diante dos pedidos dos respectivos municípios de abrangência. Até o momento, as URS Itabira, Coronel Fabriciano, Governador Valadares e Pedra Azul já retiraram doses dessa remessa de 1,5 milhão.
