O Operador Nacional do Sistema Elétrico (ONS) registrou na segunda-feira (13) novo recorde na demanda instantânea de carga do Sistema Interligado Nacional (SIN): às 14h40, foi atingido o patamar de 100.955 megawatts (MW). Foi a primeira vez na história do SIN que a carga superou a marca de 100 mil MW. O recorde anterior era de 97.659 MW, medido em 26 de setembro deste ano.
No momento em que o novo patamar foi registrado, o atendimento à carga era feito por 61.647 MW de geração hidráulica (61,1%), 10.628 MW de geração térmica (10,5%), 9.276 MW de geração eólica (9,2%), 8.506 MW de geração solar centralizada (8,4%) e 10.898 MW de geração solar proveniente de micro e mini geração distribuída – MMGD (10,8%). A principal razão para esse comportamento da carga é a significativa elevação de temperatura verificada em grande parte do Brasil.
O Rio de Janeiro registrou, às 9h15 desta terça-feira (14), a maior sensação térmica desde 2014, de 58,5 graus Celsius (°C). A medição foi feita pela estação do serviço municipal de meteorologia Alerta Rio em Guaratiba, na zona oeste da cidade. No momento, os termômetros marcavam 35,5°C.
A onda de calor chegou em uma época do ano em que, normalmente, a estação chuvosa já está estabelecida e onde as nuvens funcionam como uma espécie de controle das temperaturas. A ausência dessa defesa, segundo a meteorologista do Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia (Inmet) Anete Fernandes, potencializa os efeitos do fenômeno climático.
