A Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica (ANEEL) anunciou, nesta sexta-feira (27/9), que a bandeira tarifária será vermelha, patamar 2, em outubro. A sinalização demonstra que haverá cobrança complementar na conta de luz para os consumidores de energia elétrica conectados ao Sistema Interligado Nacional (SIN).
Na bandeira vermelha patamar 2 serão cobrados R$ 7,877 para cada 100 quilowatts-hora (kWh) consumidos. Os fatores que acionaram a bandeira vermelha patamar 2 foram o GSF (risco hidrológico) e o aumento do Preço de Liquidação de Diferenças (PLD) que foram influenciados pelas previsões de baixa afluência para os reservatórios das hidrelétricas e pela elevação do preço do mercado de energia elétrica ao longo do mês de outubro.
Uma sequência de bandeiras verdes foi iniciada em abril de 2022 e interrompida em julho de 2024 com bandeira amarela, seguida de bandeira verde em agosto e a vermelha, patamar 1, em setembro.
O sistema de bandeiras tarifárias foi criado pela ANEEL em 2015 para indicar, aos consumidores, os custos da geração de energia no Brasil. Ele reflete o custo variável da produção de energia, considerando fatores como a disponibilidade de recursos hídricos, o avanço das fontes renováveis, bem como o acionamento de fontes de geração mais caras como as termelétricas.
Com as bandeiras tarifárias, o consumidor ganha um papel mais ativo na definição de sua conta de energia. Ao saber, por exemplo, que a bandeira está vermelha, o consumidor pode adaptar seu consumo para ajudar a reduzir o valor da conta. Pela regra anterior, que previa o repasse somente nos reajustes tarifários anuais, o consumidor não tinha a informação de que a energia estava cara naquele momento e, portanto, não tinha um sinal para reagir a um preço mais alto.
