Sustentabilidade e alta produtividade estão entre as vantagens de um sistema que tem ganhado a preferência de piscicultores em Divinópolis e região, no Centro-Oeste de Minas. Trata-se do Sistema de Recirculação de Água, conhecido como RAS. O RAS consiste em um método de criação de peixes em bolsões de geomembrana. A água passa por um tratamento e depois é reutilizada, diminuindo drasticamente a quantidade de água necessária para cada ciclo produtivo”, explica o coordenador Regional de Pecuária da Empresa de Assistência Técnica e Extensão Rural de Minas Gerais (Emater-MG), Lamartine Wéliton Branquinho.
Ele lembra que, além de contribuir com a sustentabilidade, o sistema ainda apresenta como vantagens pouco espaço para a instalação, produção de um peixe de melhor qualidade e alta produção. “Os tanques podem variar de 5 mil até 300 mil litros. Em um tanque de 150 mil litros, por exemplo, o produtor pode colocar até 4,5 mil peixes terminados”, afirma Branquinho.
Entre as desvantagens do RAS, Giovani Chaves, extensionista da Emater-MG, cita o maior custo de implantação em relação ao tanque escavado e a alta demanda de energia elétrica. “Os criadores estão contornando esse problema da energia com a instalação de placas solares. Além de proporcionar uma economia significativa na conta de luz, ainda reduz a possibilidade de os animais morrerem por falta de oxigenação, caso ocorra algum pico de energia”.
Experiências
Adão Alves está na piscicultura há 25 anos. Ele e os sócios têm criação de tilápia, surubim e tambaqui em tanque escavado, na comunidade São José de Pedras, em Itaúna. Há dois anos, decidiram apostar em dez tanques suspensos de vários tamanhos para a criação de tilápias. A experiência tem sido satisfatória, são três toneladas produzidas por mês, em uma área de dois hectares.
“A gente tem um peixe de melhor qualidade, pois não tem contato com barro e, além disso, apresenta o diferencial de ser um tanque compacto, onde você pode criar bastante peixe por metro quadrado”, conta. Um frigorífico terceirizado realiza o abate e a produção é comercializada para o Programa Nacional de Alimentação Escolar (PNAE), além de bares e restaurantes de Itaúna.
O casal Maria da Conceição Gonzaga e Luiz José Gonzaga, do Povoado Lopes, em Divinópolis, também investiu no RAS. “O Luiz viu na internet e decidimos começar. É uma atividade que não dá tanto trabalho para nós, que já somos idosos, e ainda distrai”, conta Maria Gonzaga. Para Luiz José, a experiência também tem sido boa. “Eu entrei nesse sistema há uns quatro anos e só vejo vantagem, porque você tem uma evolução rápida do peixe”, comemora.
A produção do casal é dedicada apenas para o consumo da família e a experiência deles é fonte de inspiração, pois a chácara do Vovô Luiz funciona como unidade demonstrativa para piscicultores do município de Divinópolis e região.
Manejo
O coordenador Regional de Pecuária da emater-MG, Lamartine Branquinho, frisa que o manejo é simples. “O produtor coloca uma água limpa em um tanque, faz a fertilização para receber os alevinos, onde ficarão por aproximadamente 60 dias. Após esse período, transfere os animais para outro tanque com o objetivo de engorda. Em seguida, para o de depuração, onde ficam por três dias e finalmente vão para o abate. O período do ciclo fica em torno de sete a oito meses”, explica o coordenador Regional de Pecuária da Emater-MG.
O coordenador ainda lembra que o licenciamento ou outorga dependerá da quantidade de criação. Ele ainda ressalta que, apesar de ser uma atividade interessante e rentável, é necessário ter um certo conhecimento sobre manejo, pois podem ocorrer imprevistos, gerando assim a mortalidade do tanque inteiro.
