O Banco Central (BC) publicou na quinta-feira (28) uma resolução que altera as regras do Pix para melhorar o chamado Mecanismo Especial de Devolução (MED). Conforme o BC, o autoatendimento do MED dará mais agilidade e velocidade ao processo de contestação de transações fraudulentas.
A partir de 1º de outubro, o MED passa a ser feito de forma 100% digital, sem a necessidade de interação com o atendimento da instituição financeira. Todos os bancos participantes vão disponibilizar a funcionalidade no próprio ambiente Pix de seus aplicativos. Dessa forma, a transação poderá ser facilmente contestada, sem a necessidade de entrar em contato com a instituição financeira por meio das centrais de atendimento.
Contas
Outra mudança no MED, a partir da resolução publicada, é que será possível fazer a devolução do dinheiro a partir de outras contas, e não apenas daquela utilizada na fraude. Até o momento, a devolução dos recursos pode ser feita apenas a partir da conta originalmente utilizada na fraude. O problema é que os fraudadores, em geral, retiram rapidamente os recursos da conta que recebeu o dinheiro e os transferem para outras. Dessa forma, quando o cliente faz a reclamação e pede a devolução, o mais comum é que a conta já esteja esvaziada.
Com os aprimoramentos, o MED vai identificar possíveis caminhos dos recursos. Essas informações serão compartilhadas com os participantes envolvidos nas transações e permitirão a devolução de recursos em até 11 dias após a contestação, conforme o BC. Essa mudança estará disponível a partir de 23 de novembro, facultativamente, e se torna obrigatória em fevereiro do próximo ano.
Sobre o MED
Existente desde 2021, o Mecanismo Especial de Devolução só pode ser usado em caso comprovado de fraudes ou de erros operacionais da instituição financeira. A ferramenta não pode ser usada para desacordos comerciais, casos entre terceiros de boa-fé e envio de Pix para a pessoa errada por erro do próprio usuário pagador (como erro de digitação de uma chave).
