No sábado (15/6) o governo municipal inaugurou a Praça Verde Antônio Ferreira Neto. O momento contou com a presença de um grande público, em um evento marcado pela entrega da obra e confraternização.
A Lira Musical São Sebastião e os grupos de escoteiros do município participaram do momento de cerimônia. Durante a ocasião, a administração também prestou uma homenagem aos familiares de Antônio Ferreira Neto, patrono da obra.
Com investimento de mais de 1 milhão de reais, a obra foi pensada sobretudo em ser um espaço de lazer para as famílias. A área, com 3.500 m², conta com um ambiente totalmente arborizado.
O prefeito Euzebio Lago, destacou: “Este espaço é de todos nós! Idosos, crianças, famílias. Um ambiente propício para a convivência em contato com a natureza. E eu queria agradecer a todos pelo empenho e trabalho para que hoje pudéssemos entregar esta obra. Aos vereadores que votaram favorável; às secretarias de Meio Ambiente e Sustentabilidade e de Obras e Desenvolvimento Urbano, responsáveis pelo planejamento e execução; ao artista Tony Murad pela pintura e a família por conceder o nome de eternizar o Antônio Ferreira Neto – Tonho do Joãozinho. O compromisso que assumi foi de trabalhar por Nova Serrana e é isso que vou continuar fazendo”.
Durante a cerimônia, além das homenagens e falas das autoridades, aconteceu também a apresentação das escolas municipais Dona Maria Francisca de Andrade e Tânia Aparecida Carvalho Saldanha, participantes do Programa Jovens Mineiros Sustentáveis.
