Como parte da retomada das atividades esportivas em Nova Serrana, foi realizada no último final de semana as finais do Campeonato Municipal de Futebol – edição 2021. Foram mais de 1.600 pessoas envolvidas na competição.
Depois de mais de 160 jogos realizados em 11 diferentes campos da cidade, a Arena do Calçado recebeu os quatro últimos jogos da competição. Pela categoria Aspirante (módulo II) o Flamengo empatou com Vitória em 1 a 1, mas levou o caneco nos pênaltis por 6 a 5. O Ceará venceu o Fortaleza por 3 a 1 e foi o Campeão do Aspirante (módulo I).
E entre as equipes do Amador (módulo II), o Veredas E.C marcou 2 a 0 no Cometa, ficando com o título. E na final mais esperada, goleada de 5 a 0 do Ceará contra o Aranãs (módulo I).

O Campeonato Municipal de Futebol de Nova Serrana foi realizado pela prefeitura, por meio da Secretaria de Esportes e com organização da Liga de Desportos de Nova Serrana (LDNS). Mais de 1.300 atletas, divididos em 50 equipes participaram. Além deles, cerca de 300 profissionais de arbitragem, preparadores, físicos, roupeiros entre outros também marcaram presença na competição.
Os jogos aconteceram nos campos dos bairros Romeu Duarte, São Geraldo, Boa Vista, Novo Horizonte, Centro, Frei Ambrósio, Capão, Novaes, Barretos, Canjicas (Perdigão) e Gamas.
Toda arrecadação de portaria cobradas no final de semana foram divididas igualmente entre as quatro equipes finalistas. Os campeões e vice-campeões também foram premiados com troféu e medalha.
