A ministra da Saúde, Nísia Trindade, anunciou nesta quinta-feira (1) o lançamento de um Centro de Operações de Emergência para controle da epidemia de dengue no Brasil. Durante reunião tripartite na sede da Organização Pan-americana da Saúde (Opas), em Brasília, Nísia fez um pedido de mobilização nacional por parte de estados e municípios.

 

“Quero fazer aqui um chamamento público para a união de todo o país neste momento. para proteger nossa população e para prevenir, uma vez que sabemos que a maior parte dos focos [do Aedes aegypti], mais de 75%, se encontra nas casas”, disse. “Apenas com essa união podemos avançar no sentido de estarmos protegendo nossa população desse quadro de dengue e, possivelmente, de outras arboviroses.”

 

Na abertura da reunião, a ministra voltou a dizer que a vacinação contra a dengue não pode ser vista como solução para a epidemia por conta da limitação de doses da Qdenga cedidas pelo laboratório fabricante. Outro ponto crítico da imunização destacado por Nísia é a não-indicação do imunizante para idosos, grupo mais acometido por formas graves da dengue.

 

“A vacina é esperança, é instrumento fundamental, mas não é resposta para um momento de crise”, disse. “É hora de prevenir e cuidar. A dengue é uma doença para a qual o Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) pode operar de forma eficiente, evitando mortes. Isso tem que ser uma tônica nossa neste momento”, concluiu.  (COM AGÊNCIA BRASIL)
