O Ministério da Saúde atualizou para 53 o número de casos de febre maculosa confirmados este ano no país, com oito mortes registradas. Todos os óbitos ocorreram na Região Sudeste — seis em São Paulo, um em Minas Gerais e um no Rio de Janeiro. Quanto ao número de casos, a maior concentração de ocorrências é verificada nas regiões Sudeste (30) e Sul (17).
Segundo a pasta, no geral, os casos aparecem de maneira esporádica. A transmissão da febre maculosa ocorre somente por meio do contato com o carrapato-estrela infectado pela bactéria do gênero Rickettsia. Não há, portanto, transmissão de pessoa para pessoa. “O tratamento oportuno é essencial para evitar formas mais graves da doença e óbitos”, alerta o ministério.
Conforme a pasta, assim que surgem os primeiros sintomas, o paciente deve procurar as unidades de saúde para avaliação médica e tratamento disponível no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). O ministério informa que tem promovido ações recorrentes de capacitação direcionadas às vigilâncias estaduais e municipais, envolvendo profissionais da vigilância e da atenção à saúde.
Em nota, a pasta informa que está sendo usado um medicamento antimicrobiano para tratar a febre maculosa e que todas as unidades federativas estão abastecidas com os remédios prioritários para o tratar a doença, incluindo São Paulo. A nota diz ainda que dispõe de estoque estratégico para envio de novas remessas aos estados que precisarem. (COM AGÊNCIA BRASIL)
