O Senado aprovou nesta quarta-feira (17) o projeto de lei (PL) que corrige a tabela do Imposto de Renda, aumentando a isenção para quem recebe até dois salários mínimos por mês. O texto já foi aprovado pela Câmara dos Deputados e irá à sanção presidencial.
O PL 81/2024 reajusta para R$ 2.259,20 o limite de renda mensal que não precisa pagar Imposto de Renda. A lei que instituiu a nova política de valorização do salário mínimo, de 2023, autoriza um desconto sobre o imposto de 25% sobre o valor do limite de isenção, no caso, R$ 564,80, valor que somado a R$ 2.259,20 resulta em R$ 2.824, o que corresponde ao valor de dois salários mínimos.
Em seu relatório, o senador Randolfe Rodrigues (Rede-AP) disse que o objetivo da proposição é parear a incidência tributária com a política de valorização do salário mínimo e, assim, evitar sua desidratação. Segundo ele, o Poder Executivo tem apresentado várias propostas para modernizar o Imposto de Renda e torná-lo mais justo.
Durante debate, senadores da oposição cobraram a promessa de campanha do presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva de isentar do imposto de renda para pessoas com rendimentos de até R$ 5 mil. (COM INFORMAÇÕES AGÊNCIA BRASIL E AGÊNCIA SENADO)
