Quatro casos de dengue sorotipo 3 (DENV3) foram confirmados na cidade de Votuporanga, no interior paulista, informou a secretaria de Saúde do município. Estudo da Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz), divulgado em maio deste ano, já mostrava o ressurgimento desse sorotipo, que há mais de 15 anos não causa epidemias no país. Conforme a fundação, a circulação acende o sinal de alerta quanto ao risco de uma nova epidemia da doença causada por esse sorotipo viral.
O primeiro caso em Votuporanga foi detectado em uma mulher, de 34 anos, que chamou a atenção por conta da intensidade dos sintomas clássicos da doença, como febre, vômito, dor e manchas vermelhas pelo corpo, além de sangramento nasal e pela urina. Nas ações de bloqueio, que envolvem identificar a circulação do sorotipo, a secretaria confirmou outros sete casos suspeitos. O resultado das amostras colhidas apontou que, dos sete, três eram do tipo 3 da dengue, sendo todas do sexo feminino, com 5, 31 e 46 anos.
Sorotipos
O vírus da dengue tem quatro sorotipos. Segundo a Fiocruz, a infecção por um deles gera imunidade contra o mesmo sorotipo, mas é possível contrair dengue novamente se houver contato com um sorotipo diferente.
O risco de uma epidemia com o retorno do sorotipo 3 ocorre devido à baixa imunidade da população, uma vez que poucas pessoas contraíram esse tipo de vírus desde as últimas epidemias registradas no começo dos anos 2000. Existe ainda o perigo da dengue grave, que ocorre com mais frequência em pessoas que já tiveram a doença sendo infectadas novamente por outro sorotipo. (COM AGÊNCIA BRASIL)
