Os vereadores aprovaram na terça-feira (29/10), o projeto de autoria do vereador Cleiton Surf Star, que declara de Utilidade Pública Municipal a Associação dos Cearenses em Nova Serrana.
A Associação dos Cearenses foi fundada em 19 de agosto de 2023. É uma associação que tem a missão de promover e articular ações de defesa de direitos, prevenção, orientação e prestação de serviços voltados aos cearenses residentes em Nova Serrana e cidades vizinhas, bem como aos seus familiares. Através de iniciativas sociais, de saúde e apoio educativo, a Associação busca promover o desenvolvimento dessas comunidades, visando ao bem-estar e à melhoria da qualidade de vida.
Uma das ações que marcou as atividades da associação foi a realização dos festejos juninos Encandear. A difusão da cultura nordestina também está entre os objetivos da associação.
