Já o adulto que fizer uso do cerol será conduzido, junto ao material, até a autoridade judiciária, podendo até mesmo ser preso. Em Minas Gerais, a Lei Estadual nº 14.349 de 2002 prevê multa para os infratores, ficando esses sujeitos também a sanções cíveis e penais.

- Tenha cuidado com ruas e lugares movimentados, principalmente quando andar para trás. Pode haver algum buraco ou tráfego de veículos.
- Tenha atenção especial com motociclistas e ciclistas — a linha pode ser perigosa para eles mesmo sem cerol. Fique atento para que a linha não entre na frente deles.
- Se a pipa se enroscar em fios, não tente tirá-la. É melhor fazer outra. Nunca use canos, vergalhões ou bambus.
- Ao correr atrás das pipas, tenha muito cuidado com o trânsito.
